Amazon baby wish list - free gift?

I’m about to give up…

Have been through all the terms and conditions, and can’t figure out why the items I’m adding to my basket are excluded from the offer. I just can’t get the GIFT21 code to work for the free gift when you create and buy from a baby wish list.

any other experiences of this?

Yep, it never worked for me and my youngest is 4!

Sa11yCinnamon · 25/01/2024 09:48

I've tried it a couple of times and it always says my code is invalid, I've given up!

Bozbiza · 25/01/2024 10:06

I’ve tried numerous times too and can never get it to work! Very frustrating

OopsieeDaisy · 25/01/2024 11:24

It was a while ago that I did it but it did work for me. I bought a cot mattress so well over the minimum spend, added to wishlist first, added free gift to basket (worst part for me was trying to find the free gift!) and it basically charged for the gift but knocked the gift cost off the mattress IIRC, or something strange like that anyway.

MadMadamMimz · 25/01/2024 11:25

I couldn't get it to work and like you, spent ages making sure the items I added were eligible.

I gave up.

Hetty2507 · 25/01/2024 11:36

I got some free water wipes, but it was a pain to figure out how!

Do you remember how you managed to get it to work?

@redxlondon no it took me a long time 😂.
Apparently you can keep adjusting your baby's due date even when they are born to get more discounts and freebies. But I can't be bothered, it was so much hassle even the first time

I did this the other day and got the nappy bin free.

Was a bit of a faff but worth it for free.

GreatGateauxsby · 25/01/2024 14:53

I ended up buying something I wanted anyway to gift a gift to myself

Pain in the fucking arse.

Second time round I couldn't be bothered

Alloveragain3 · 25/01/2024 15:04

OP have you put the free gift you want in your basket before checking out?

Yes, and I’ve tried so many different items but just can’t get it to discount.
I’m just curious, those saying it was fiddly but managed it, what did you do??

OP posts:
Toda11 · 25/01/2024 15:19

I think I tried a few items before realising that not all were sold and shipped by Amazon so didn't count

redxlondon · 25/01/2024 18:03

Solution in the end was staying online with customer services until they gave me a voucher for the bin!

How long ago did you set up your gift list?

I think the gift list has to exist for 5 days prior to your purchase, with the non free gift items you are planning to purchase with the free gift on the list for that time.

Then after five days you add the stuff to your basket (make sure it's over £20 even after any discounts), add your free gift and you should be good to go

ricave222 · 25/01/2024 18:50

Omg same! I’m speaking to customer service right now and I’m not sure he even knows what the baby registry gift is himself! I can’t seem to get the gifts list to come up to choose from and the code isn’t working for me! :(

Ah this must be it, many items I had didn’t qualify so I added new items today. Will leave this here in case it helps others…but thankfully I managed to get Amazon to give me a voucher as I just couldn’t work out the issue.

I also had issues so spoke to customer services and they sent me a voucher for the price of the nappy bin straight away 😀
