Small femur and big head - 20 week scan

Hi all,

I’ve had my 20 week scan today and the sonographer said everything was normal. However, I was then looking at the report and I saw that my baby was in the 85% percentile for one of the heads measurement and then in the 9% percentile for femur length. Now I’m worried something is wrong!

He is on 27th percentile on average which is fine , considering that both me and my husband are small. But I also noticed that one of my RI measurements is at the 95% percentile. Has anyone experienced this? Would it be worth to get additional private scans, considering the NHS won’t probably consider them?

I had one of these. He was pretty odd looking as a baby, like a lollipop, but is 6’4” now so it evened out.

Very similar with my DD! All fine in the end, still has a big head but you wouldn’t know unless you measured it, looks completely in proportion.

This is literally my dc. I got myself really worried about it too, but for no reason! They did have a big head as a baby and do have quite short legs actually, not that it’s noticeable!
