At my 20 week scan, I noticed the report said my baby had a smaller femur and a larger head. All with in range as such as still on the chart, but I'm super worried and google hasn't helped.

I've got no further scans as the sonographer wasn't concerned it's only since I've looked at the report since coming home

Anyone else have similar or can reassure.. ill try and speak to my midwife but this may help in the meantime xxxx anxious mummy to be xxxx

I really dont understand why people go for a scan, get told by a qualified sonographer that they have a living healthy baby rather than those of us who get bad news, sorry your embryo/fetus/baby is dead, or sorry baby has ridiculously high nuchal fluid so highly likely an abnormality, etc, etc then ask on an intranet site where most members are almost certainly not medically trained if tge untrained eyes think there is an issue,

Of course there is currently no issue. If there was any problem now or they thought one was developing they would have told you!

It's a bit like asking someone who has never had any music training to comment on the quality and expression that a pianist puts into their playing of a particular piece of music.

Sorry, I am probably being realky unkind but having carried a dead embryo unknown for several weeks these requests really get in my nerves.

@Longbarn5 im sorry you went through that but you aren’t helping. Perhaps it’s best to scroll past posts like these.

OP, nothing measures exactly bang on, the sonographer was happy with everything they saw and baby looks to be perfectly healthy. Speak to your midwife if you’re worried but please enjoy the rest of your pregnancy

No, you are right and I apologise. One of those down days.

This was almost exactly like my scan read a few months ago OP, I was petrified of a huge head and teeny tiny legs 😂 he was perfectly formed so please don't worry, don't read anything into it. They are all estimates and everything reads fine on your report ♥️

Yes, both my babies have measured 70th percentile for head size and been very low, nearly off the chart for femur length. My eldest is 17 months now and quite short (0.4th centile) so not sure if there is a correlation?!

I was told that the femur length was tracking perfectly from what it was in the 13 week scan so was nothing to worry about at all!
