Hi, so went to my 39 week growth scan today and baby has gone from 50th centile to 30th centile. Haven't got consultant until Thursday. What are they likely to do?
Already spoken to birthing centre and they've said I can't go there as baby is under normal range 🙁 really gutted about that but they've advised if I go into labour before Thursday to go hospital. Are they likely to induce me following my consultant app?

At 39 weeks I’m suprised they didn’t just offer induction following the scan. However, if this has been an otherwise healthy pregnancy the consultant may want to rescan. At around 36 weeks I was told by sonographer mine dropped from the 25th percentile to the 8th percentile. this triggered lots of talk of bringing baby out early etc.

Rescanned by consultant a few days later and was told baby was actually around 30th percentile. Sometimes at the later stages it’s hard to get accurate measurements. Baby was born on the 50th percentile at 39 weeks. Very average.

But be prepared to be offered an induction as this has been my experience when growth has changed.

Would you want an induction if offered?

Hi
I had near enough exactly the same thing at my 38 weeks scan. They booked me back in at 40 weeks and the growth had picked up again so they didn’t do anything and was discharged from consultant care. I’m 40+5 now, have midwife app tomorrow and have been told I can deliver on midwife led unit as no concerns. Did they book you back in for a scan?

Sorry should of said in original post, same thing happened with my last pregnancy, baby hadn't grown alot at my 39wk app and was induced 3days later but luckily got to the hospital and was 4cm so only had waters popped baby born 3hours later but that was 4yrs ago now so wasn't sure if it would be slightly different now or not as baby has grown just not alot 🤷‍♀️
