Hey guys,

probably a very very silly question, but my baby has been breech and I have been trying to get them to move through exercise and moxibustion . How did you know your baby was head down without a healthcare professional checking or through a scan??

I was feeling a lot of movement down near my pelvis and lower stomach area, I’m now feeling a bit more movement near my ribs etc but still feeling movement down low too. My bump does look a little lower though so hoping this might be a good sign.

thanks in advance!!

Personally I didn’t, even the midwives couldn’t tell which way round she was so had to have a scan. The head is supposed to be hard and the bum softer but mine had a hard bum and I had movement low down and high up. She was breech for a while and eventually turned but I never felt her turn.

@PickledScrump thanks so much for this! I feel silly for not knowing if she has turned because I’m so tuned into movements at the moment so it’s reassuring to know that I might not actually feel the turn if it has/does occur! I seem to have movements high and low whereas last week everything was very very low. So fingers crossed!!

Hi
I’m currently 40+4 (and very fed up!) my baby was breech at 32 weeks after being head down, between 32-36 (I’ve had growth scans every 4 weeks) he turned. Main difference for me is that when he is head down I feel very distinct kicks from feet under the right side of my ribs, he also sometimes wedges a foot under which is uncomfortable. I also feel a really heavy sensation down in my crotch and very heavy movements.

Where are the biggest movements?

My baby is head down and I get big movements/ kicks high at the top of my bump and under the ribs. I do get some little movements low down but they are much more infrequent and gentle, think they are his little hands.

@Kilminchy123 this was my third pregnancy so you’d think I’d know the difference but she liked to keep everyone guessing every time 😂 2 midwives and the sonographer tried to tell my feeling but none were sure. The only time I had movements around my ribs was when she was breech and her head was there. Hopefully yours has turned for you

Both my children were breech; I had my son turned in the end, but my daughter gratefully turned on her due date, and honestly it was like a washing machine turning around in there, I really felt her turn and I physically watched her go 180 degrees, such a weird feeling but glad she did! It was the same feeling when my son was turned.

I could usually feel a hard bulge where their heads were and like others could feel the kicking exactly where their feet and legs were. I could also feel my daughter scratching or fiddling her little fingers what felt like the bottom of my bladder/womb after she turned so that was a joy as I’m sure you can imagine 🤣
