Swap folic acid for feroglobin?

I’ve been taking folic acid for the last few months, now I’m 5 weeks pregnant. A blood test I did just before finding out that I’m pregnant showed low ferritin levels. I’ve also noticed symptoms such as hair loss and fatigue recently. I was advised to take iron supplements. The Feroglobin brand I got includes folic acid (same dose as recommended by NHS - 400). So my instinct is to stop taking the folic acid tablets and take Feroglobin instead, which combines both. However, I just wanted to double check if anyone knows if that’s definitely ok, or if, for example, the combination reduces the effect of the folic acid. My booking appointment is still 4 weeks away so I’m trying to find information before I will discuss it with a midwife.

You can call your midwife or make a GP appointment - best to get advice from a medical professional that you can talk through any other relevant background.
