Would you book the holiday?

Hi looking for some advice please, not sure if I’m overthinking this.

I had a MMC with my first pregnancy at 12 weeks in August. The original due date was 24th Feb and we always planned to go on holiday that week to take our minds off the loss but hadn’t booked anything.

I’m now 15+1 and have had multiple private scans to check everything is ok, 7 weeks, 10 weeks, NHS at 12+3 and the last one being on Sunday when I was 14+6 and everything is looking really well. Due to work we can only go on holiday 20th-26th feb but the 20 week scan is booked for the 19th Feb.

I feel like it’s tempting fate to book a holiday for the day after the scan in case it’s bad news? I probably only feel like this because of the MMC, I am 33, healthy and have been classified as a low risk pregnancy FWIW.

I've voted yes but I suppose should ask where is the holiday to/is it long haul? Flying isn't a risk at this stage it's just if you needed medical care could you safely access it and get home easily enough? Other than that, yes book it! Enjoy your special time together before becoming 3. Every pregnancy is so different and so far you're doing great with a low risk pregnancy and perfect baby so chances are everything will stay that way. Enjoy your hol if you do go for it!

Thank you @remaininghopeful23 for the reassurance. I should have included that info in my original post, it would just be to the Canary Islands so quite a short flight and a low risk country. It would be our only chance to have a holiday again just the two of us before the baby comes so we probably should just go for it!

Yes I'd go for it if it were me! I'm hoping to plan a trip myself when I'm about 26 weeks I think it's important to have some quality time with your partner before baby. Who knows when we'll get away again😂Enjoy yourselves!

First off, I'm so sorry for your loss with the mmc. such a hard thing to go through ❤️

But yes, book that holiday!!! You won't regret it! We did our babymoon when I was 24weeks, and I felt like that was pushing it on feeling big and pregnant 😂 so if I had my time again, I would book earlier in the second trimester! 20 weeks sounds perfect!

i know you're nervous, just take a deep breath and keep living your life ❤️ (i hope this comes across in the nice way i mean, and not condescending or anything like that).

I would go. It will do good for you to relax as once the baby is here you will be busy and tired. 🙂
