Stopping progesterone and spotting

Hi there, I am currently a little over 16 weeks. Due to a history of MC I was prescribed progesterone pessaries, which I stopped taking 11 days ago. Since then I've had spotting on and off. The first time it happened I panicked and went to the hospital, we had a scan and baby was fine. That's when the nurse explained to me that the change in hormones can cause some spotting while the body adjusts. Has anyone else experienced this, and how long did it last for? I've had some more spotting again (so that means spotting 6, 9 and 11 days since stopping the progesterone). Im currently waiting for a doctor to call me, but part of me wants to anxiously head off to the hospital again.

Sorry I can't massively help. I was prescribed progesterone for until 34w (initially for up to 16w because of miscarriage risk, and after that told to continue to 34w because of problems with cervix). I stopped just over 2w ago and haven't had any spotting as a result of stopping taking it BUT I did have spotting on and off every week or two from around 14w up until at least 22w even though I was talking the progesterone. The suggestion at the time was the spotting at the second trimester was as a result of a low lying placenta rather than anything wrong with baby. Did they check the position of your placenta when they scanned you?

@LavenderSweetPea They didn't say anything about the position of the placenta, but thank you! I can definitely ask about this when I speak to someone.
