I had my baby in October 2023 iv recently found out im pregnant my baby is 12 weeks old I went on the pill a week after I had him so haven’t had a period since having him my clear blue digital says 3 plus so I know that means im at least 5 weeks pregnant has anybody had experience of this and what did midwives do regarding 12 week scan

This happened to a friend of mine. She ended up having a scan which showed how far along she was (she was 16 weeks so a big surprise for her)!

Speak to MW / GP and explain you need a dating scan as don't know how far along you are.

Hi, I guess you need to see your GP and they can make you an appointment for a scan given you don’t know your dates.

I’m not sure how accurate those digital pregnancy tests are?

Did you do a test has you felt pregnant?
how do you feel about it?

From what I’ve heard from friends they send you for a scan sooner rather than later and then ask you to come back at a later date if you aren’t far along enough for the 12 weeks screening.

Remember that it is entirely your choice as to whether you continue the pregnancy or not.

I felt pregnant felt real sick I got thrush and it’s not something I usually get only when pregnant my full body aches iv tried finding the dates indicator been wrong but it’s mostly people complaining that they carnt get past the 2-3 on the test rather then people getting the 3 plus I took two of them two days apart and same result I’ll ring them tomorrow and after iv got over the initial shock I’m happy was dreading telling my partner but he’s over the moon I do have slight hesitations like is this going to ruin my bonding time with my son

I got a womb infecting I think it was like 7 weeks after birth doctor gave me some antibiotics and they gave me really bad diarrhoea sorry for the tmi so that’s most likely when the pill failed because I take it every day at the same time and from what iv read it takes 5 days to get in your system so possibly I got pregnant around then
