Kick count and anterior placenta

Hello,
I am 28wks pregnant and have an anterior placenta.
With my first child, i felt kicks regularly and keeping an eye on things was really easy.
With this one, I have an anterior placenta and although I do still feel movement, it's much less frequent, much harder to spot (i will only feel it when i lie down to go to sleep)
How do I watch out for reduced movements when I can feel so little?
Any tips please?

I was the same. I found it terribly stressful. Like you i would have to lie down quietly to check i could feel something, sometimes for 20-30mins. I don't think there is anything to do really apart from try not to go nuts! I would check when i woke in the morning, once after work and when i got into bed. As the weeks progressed i could feel more spontaneously but was still a worry. Best of luck

I'm afraid I only check once a day, but I'm pretty sure that's enough. Anterior placenta here too, 34 weeks and I only really feel anything when I go to bed. Sometimes there'll be another movement during the day, but not always.

It's been getting more and more obvious, but it wasn't easy to tell at 28 weeks with me. Sorry, anterior placentas suck!

Anterior placenta here too (37weeks + 4). I’ve found it very hard to keep track and it’s never that regular / I wouldn’t say there’s much of a pattern. I eventually settled on so long as I’ve felt him have a good kick overnight (seems to be when I feel him best) that’s ok. He has quiet days and busy days. He does seem to react to certain things like the cat, deep voices and music but not always. He’s my first so I’ve been finding watching out for reduced movements a bit stressful to be honest as I didn’t really know what to expect.

Thanks ladies.

I have to say I am really missing the movement I had with my DD. Baby is kicking well at night but other than that, I only get the occasional "was that a squirm? ... oh it's stopped. Maybe not." movement.

Sorry to hear there's no tips to increase felt movement in the day but sometimes it's just nice to know that I'm not alone! ❤️

Hopefully we will feel more as the weeks progress, as PP said 😊 it's one of the lovely bits!

Wishing you all a nice day x
