Hi all - looking for advice here. We had to cancel a trip to Africa as I Am pregnant and doc said no due to Zika. Travel insurance is claiming normal pregnancy isn’t covered and it’s only if there are complications. Has anyone had this? Surely doc saying I can’t go should be enough?? Any advice on how to approach? I’ve had miscarriages in the past so wondering could doc write a letter to say I’m high risk?

Insurance will cover you if you are abroad and something happens with the pregnancy. they will not cover you for not going just BECAUSE you are pregnant unless there's a medically necessary reason not it. Currently there is no Government advice not the travel to those areas so insurance won't cover it. It would cover if you had an ectopic etc and couldn't travel for that reason

You said in your other post you don't have insurance currently so you would not be able to get insurance after you were pregnant and got this advice and get it covered. so getting a doctor to write a note would be irrelevant
