Hi,

My due date is 29th Feb, and this will be my 3rd section. My first was an emergency at 36 weeks and 2nd was semi emergency/semi planned done at 37 weels due to static growth. I am nearly 33 weeks, and upto now there are no concerns for baby, growth scan yesterday shown she is estimated to weigh around 4lb 12oz at the moment. I have requested 28th February but date hasn't been confirmed yet. Could they offer me 29th February? Just curious really.

Thanks

I can't see why they would have any reason to, if anything they might suggest earlier in the week rather than ok your due date

It's a Thursday, so electives will be going ahead as normal.

What’s your thinking that they wouldn’t?

Assume you want to avoid your child only having a birthday once every four years?

IME planned sections are done at 39 weeks.

When you say you have requested - did you have a discussion about this at a mw appointment?

Yes and the consultant put a request in to the delivery team for the 28th. But emergencies and all sorts can happen so was wondering if they were unable to do me on the 28th for whatever reason (too many people have requested that date, staff shortages, etc) would it be a possibility they could offer me the 29th? I know its a normal day of the week but was just asking out of curiosity really, would like to avoid baby having an official birthday every 4 years if possible 😂

I didn't realise they offer c sections that late! I thought they like them out a little before to not risk you going into labour naturally beforehand
