Found out I'm 22 weeks pregnant

I have just found out I'm 22 weeks pregnant and in complete shock as had no signs.

I've just rung the doctors to book my booking appointment with the midwife but they said I need to see a doctor first.

What will happen next and how fast will they get me a scan? I'm concerned I'm so far in to the pregnancy.

How do you know you’re 22 weeks pregnant if you haven’t seen a midwife or doctor yet?

Charlietaylor123 · 09/01/2024 16:23

I had a private scan.

Didn't you have an appointment to remove the pregnancy booked this morning? Apologies if I have the wrong username but this is very familiar.

My wife and I arrived back into the UK when she was into her second trimester.

She self-referred to the maternity unit online. They booked her in pretty quick for the initial appointment.

That must have been a huge shock. Take it one day at a time, get seen by the doctor and go on from there. Congrats 🥳

It's the same poster.

I didn't have to see my doctor before booking in with midwife etc but I wasn't as far along and different parts of the country may be different - but I'm assuming you want to know if the baby is ok before you decide what to do? In which case I'd contact your doctor asap and explain the situation and urgency.

Btw I didn't comment on your other post as so many people had already said exactly what I would, but I really hope you're ok and make the right decision for you and only you x

Oh my! Is this your first?

OP I just read through your other post.

Your husband is a scumbag.

If you are not 100% certain that you want to abort the pregnancy, you don't have to go through with it.

You being coerced into going through with this could affect you for the rest of your life.

Please use the time you have left until your abortion appointment to decide for yourself whether you want to go through with it, and whether you want to be with someone that is pressuring you to make such a crucial decision.

I’m surprised that the midwife said you need to see a doctor. I moved house when I was 23 weeks pregnant and registered at a new hospital as a new patient, and they didn’t ask about any previous midwife visits until my appointment.

You do need to have a scan asap, and I do fear it will be too late to have the anomaly scan on the NHS. Can you afford to do that privately too?
