Had an early scan at 9+5 weeks and everything was fine but now it's my 12 week scan and I'm so scared. I know people do still have miscarriages at 11 12 weeks ect and I'm so terrified I'm going to have this scan and find out baby's heartbeat has stopped. I've never had any symptoms this pregnancy so couldnt tell if anything changed but its just a worrying feelingg i have. I feel less sensitive in my tummy and i ate awfully over Christmas. That coupled with the fact my hcg levels were decreasing at my last scan. I just can't shake the negative feeling. Really could do with a handhold today

Hi, this will be me in three weeks and sending lots of thoughts and good wishes your way. Try to focus on the process today ie getting ready, getting to your appointment etc. Is someone going with you?

It’s completely understandable to constant worry!
no matter the amount of scans, I had lots already, I’m still feeling scared every twinge every lack of symptoms etc. I even have a Doppler at home checking daily HB(I know it’s not recommended but well) and I still worry every day.
But remember the odds are your side🫶🏻
Good luck and I wish you a happy and healthy pregnancy!

The feeling you have is probably just anxiety and doesn’t mean anything is actually wrong. I had the same feeling before my 12 week scan. I didn’t have symptoms either and didn’t feel pregnant. I was convinced that there wouldn’t be a heartbeat or baby wouldn’t have formed properly. Everything was perfect and I have a healthy 6 month old.

I’ve got everything crossed for you OP. I was exactly the same, despite having had an early scan which showed everything was absolutely fine with my baby, I was a nervous wreck going to my 12 week scan. I think I cried through the entire scan, now 26 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby girl. Take someone with you for support, it’s a very emotional time and I honestly think everyone has those anxieties! Nothing you ate over Christmas will have harmed your baby honestly x

Thanks so much. I think my anxiety is so bad because this is the furthest I've got. I usually can't get past the 4-5 week mark so getting to 9 weeks was a milestone. It's literally our last attempt at having a family as we can't go through ivf again so I have all my hopes pinned on this baby making it. Im praying he or she is strong enough to make it

I know exactly how you feel and wish you lots of luck. Let us know how you got on xx

Mistralli · 09/01/2024 20:42

Really hoping you had good news, and big hugs if it wasn't. It doesn't help, but so many of us have been there, and you're never alone with that particular sadness.

coffeeandcake91 · 09/01/2024 20:49

hope you got amazing news OP!
