Hi everyone new here pleas be kind.
this is my 2nd pregnancy can’t believe I’m writing this as after first I was diagnosed with pcos, 31/36day cycles so didn’t expect to get caught again let alone quickly, so feeling very blessed. However I am worried as if I check the dates of last period, this would make me 6 weeks, but my clear blue test only showing 1-2 weeks?? Lines aren’t really strong on other tests either:( Help please xx

You might have ovulated later in the cycle. Did you track? If so, how long ago did you peak?

MammaC21 · 07/01/2024 14:19

I didn’t track it no, it’s so strange because 20/12/23 I had a blood test to check if I was ovulating and on Wednesday just gone doctors said ‘no your not ovulating’ then on the Friday I got 5 positive pregnancy tests…my head is baffled don’t know when it happened x

Well that was 17 days ago. I got a bfp (1-2 on digital) at 11dpo. So maybe you ovulated after that?

MammaC21 · 07/01/2024 14:26

Yeah quite possibly, so would you go from period dates meaning I’m 6 weeks, or the test which would be 4 weeks? Wanting to book an early scan to make sure all is ok but think it’s best to wait

I really am such a worrier just want everything to be okay

You need to add 2 weeks to these tests as they show from conception so that would make you about 4 weeks. Perhaps you ovulated late?

MammaC21 · 07/01/2024 14:35

Yes I think so too, hence why it hadn’t come up in my bloods. Unless I’d not ovulated as i was already pregnant? They didn’t test for that

No point of having a scan too early so assuming you are about 3-4 weeks atm that would be another 2-3 weeks minimum. I suppose at this stage you can just take it day by day and see what happens. 🤞🏼

MammaC21 · 07/01/2024 15:16

No I know think I might book own for end of the month, I just really need some re assurance that’s all is okay. I didn’t find out till almost 8 weeks with my first, so I wasn’t waiting as long for a scan🫣 but as I’m so early I’m just so frightened ! Thanks to you both x

We went for a private scan and they advised us to wait until at least 6 weeks after the positive test, so there was no risk of going too early (and just adding stress!)

MammaC21 · 07/01/2024 15:49

Good thinking! I will do my absolute best to wait 🤣

Update if anyone sees: done another test (3 days after digital) and changed to 2-3 weeks. Feeling a lot better and settled

I’m pleased it’s now moved to 2-3 weeks for you. Still likely you ovulated late given the earlier bloods x

Olika · 08/01/2024 18:35

Great news! Try to relax, take pregnancy vitamins and enjoy the journey. 🙂

Thank you❤️

Your time between ovulation and your period is 14 days give or take a day or so, this is your luteal phase and is around the same for everyone. The time before ovulation can vary though. The dating process is based on a 28 day cycle, so if you test when you period is due you would be about 2 weeks since conception or 4 weeks pregnant. So your digital is about right. Your midwives will use the lmp as dating for now but it will likely alter when you have your scan. Congratulations
