Baby got ear infection

Feeling really sorry for my little baby atm took him to the docs after being up since 3am with him he has a ear infection bless him feel really bad coz I can’t do anything for him 🥺

My DD suffered constantly with ear and chest infections until she had grommets and adenoidectomy. It’s horrible when you can’t do anything to help them.

The only thing I've done to soothe in past is pressed gently/massaged around their ear to take focus off pain. I still do that to my toddler now when she has bad earache and she falls asleep

Thanks for comments i don’t really know what to do docs said it was just a ear infection and chest sounded fine but holding him now he is really chesty and u can hear it in his breathing and when he coughs

@Twimum23 the antibiotics will clear it pretty quickly, he’ll be back to normal in a day or two. In the meantime, calpol and cuddles

@PickledScrump hopefully but I’m in two mins to take him to hospital if he still chesty tomo as he isn’t right atm he only staying awake for about 10-15mins then he is asleep again

@PickledScrump@maria2bela1 so just a update on my babies ear infection had to phone 111 again this morning at 5 am as he seem to be getting worse and it turns out he has a bad case of croup was that bad 111 sent a ambulance straight away and as soon as the paramedics walked in the said it it was croup straight away without even listening to his chest so I dunno how the docs didn’t pick up on it

@Twimum23 aww bless him. My Dd used to get that a lot as well. So awful when there’s nothing they can do for it. Just got told steamy bathrooms and being out in the cold air.

Yeah I hate it made me cry this morning he was that bad. Docs prescribed amoxicillin but when paramedics turned up they gave him a high dose of a Dexamethasone which seems to have helped loads cough doesn’t seem as bad just really tired now
