Should I be worried?

I'm about two months pregnant. Yesterday I got sent up to the OOH GP at our nearest hospital, as I was in a lot of pain around my back and tummy. I was diagnosed with a kidney infection and sent home with some antibiotics.

Today I'm still in pain, but now my shoulder is hurting as well. It started up suddenly earlier today. Well, I'm worried anyway. Could this be an ectopic pregnancy? Do I need to go to the hospital again?

How did they diagnose the kidney infection? With the shoulder pain I'd definitely be heading to a&e to get checked over. Always better to be on the safe side. I had pain in my back with my ectopic.

100% A&E if you haven’t yet had an early scan and confirmed the pregnancy is in your uterus.

@NeeNaw12 They took a urine sample and did a dip test. Apparently there was a lot of bacteria in there.

I went to hospital with back and one sided tummy pain and was told it was a water infection, paid for a private scan the next day and found out my pregnancy was ectopic. I would go back to hospital. Hope everything works out for you ❤️

Thank you @RedJumper13 I did contact 111 and they said to contact my GP in the morning, so that's not much help.

@SapphireSeptember When I had my ectopic and went to my GP they sent me straight to A&E - you might as well go straight there, especially with the shoulder pain. Best of luck xx

I phoned them back, they're getting someone else to ring me. I don't know what they're going to suggest. They did ask if I'd have anyone to get me safely to A&E and I said no. My boyfriend isn't much use and my friends all have their own lives. Can't afford a taxi and I don't fancy getting the bus.

Could you go to your EPAU? If you're 2 months they can do a scan to rule out an ectopic pregnancy?

You boyfriend needs to step up!

@mamamia901 They've referred me to them now, I'm going to get a call in the next couple of days. The gynecologist lady I spoke to thinks it's all fine, they're just going to double check.

No arguments from me. Don't know what I'm going to do about that. 😟

@Xoxogossipgirl1 Missed your post! Yeah, I've got a kidney infection already. No symptoms either, it just went straight up and caused me a lot of pain.

I should update you lovely people. I'm actually quite a bit further along than I thought (about 14 weeks.) The 'early' scan wasn't so early after all! Baby is where s/he is supposed to be. 😊
