I would have expected it to be darker, but could it be dilute urine, were you drinking lots of fluids before taking this test?

Stanfordd · 01/01/2024 13:31

Yes I’m diabetic and always over hydrated I have irregular period also so I can be between 3 and 4 weeks

A positive is a positive and if you're not sure of your dates and it could be as early as 3 weeks then no it wouldn't necessarily be darker. Also is that a 'clear and simple' brand? I found them to stay light for alot longer than other tests. There are other factors like is it an 'early response' test (10ul) or a standard test (25ul) sensitivity will make a difference at this stage. HCG doubles every 48-72 hours so retest in a couple of days to see if it's darkening but be aware it might only be very slightly! Good luck and congratulations!

I used the exact same test at 4 weeks and it was also super faint. I had to up the saturation on a photo just to see that it was actually pulling pink. I took a different test 2 days later and it was more obvious.

Ignore anyone who says the lines should be stronger, that's not how it works. We all have different base levels of hcg, different implantation days and different doubling windows. Some show early and some take longer, perfectly normal.

Based on my early tests, I just assumed I had very low base hcg (as I felt implantation)

Pics of my faint line attached. Would recommend getting a better test, those aren't great. Boots early detection are supposed to be good.

I'm 23 weeks now :)

Wait till the morning a use first wee, with DS 3 I was over 4 weeks late before I got a positive, all my tests were very light

flutterby1 · 02/01/2024 12:56

I had this happen and unfortunately it was a ' missed' miscarriage . The line was stronger in the earlier days.

TTCnewbies · 02/01/2024 12:57

If you aren't able to hold wee for long then I would collect your FMU and use that.

DragonFly98 · 02/01/2024 13:00

Just use a FRER digital need high HCG I don't know why people bother with crap cheap tests like the first one you used.
