Anyone else recovering from flu and cough?

Just having a good old whinge - 17 weeks pregnant, still with morning sickness and now recovering from horrendous flu.

I didn’t even know flu could feel so bad, 10 days ago I was sitting on the sofa shivering uncontrollably and panting as well as suffering still with morning sickness. Paracetamol wasn’t helping. I took 3 Covid tests because I was convinced this couldn’t be just flu, but surprised all negative.

Today I am still coughing like crazy (even with antibiotics) and so sad that I have only a few days left of my holiday. Being ill cancelled everything, and because my partner was also sick, the kids had to feed themselves (not too bad as teenagers). They had the saddest hot dog Christmas dinner.

I wish I got the flu jab.

Anyone else recovering from this? I can’t wait to feel normal again.

@Silverfoxlady Hello. Hope you got better. I got flu when already suffering with terrible nausea, pelvic pains and many other pregnancy and long covid symptoms. I'm 20 weeks pregnant in 3 days and I'm coughing so much I feel like my lungs will fall out. This is all with round ligament pain so bad I can't sometimes walk. So, yes, pregnancy and flu are a bad combination but let's hope it all gets better soon. Hope the rest of your journey is uneventful and smooth. 😁

It is horrible, isn’t it. I was so shocked about how a simple flu could feel so much worse whilst pregnant.

It finally felt a little better after I finished the antibiotics, I hope you recover soon too - nausea, pelvic pain and awful coughing is not a good mixture. Sending luck!

@Silverfoxlady Lovely to hear you got better☺️. I agree, pregnancy amps everything up and it felt so miserable. But my GP was really great. Best of luck to you too x
