Hi ladies, I thought I’d make a thread for us to chat on to save sharing a ton on the old thread as I know it’s difficult for people to hear when they’re still struggling. No pressure to contribute but thought it might be nice to catch up or share more about the success stories if you want to. Or if you don’t, the thread will fade away and that’s also fine!

@Kay00 @JeanieJ I know you guys have recently had a baby or are due to soon and @IWillbeWaxinganOwl was a while back now! There might be others I’ve forgotten.

Hi ladies!! Thanks for setting up the thread @thislittlebird How are you all today?

thislittlebird · 31/12/2023 15:40

@Kay00 I’m alright! Starting to get a bit uncomfortable in bed now, it’s annoying. Ordered a pregnancy pillow and am hoping that will be comfortable. Also started getting a lot of what feels like cramps around the general belly area, so I assume that’s stretching and normal.

My 20 week scan is next Saturday but I have no idea what time, can’t find a letter, so need to find that out on Tuesday and I’m hoping I can get my vaccinations done the same day at the hospital walk in clinic.

Hello everyone 👋. Yes, unbelievably I now have a cheeky, curious 7 month old - currently trying to get all the washing out the laundry basket!

Hoping your scan goes really well @thislittlebird . I found your current stage really anxiety provoking as i didn't look or feel pregnant at all!

Kay00 · 01/01/2024 20:13

@thislittlebird yes, the stretching is normal and continues throughout. I didn't get a pregnancy pillow in the end because I sleep on my side anyways and have always propped myself up with extra normal pillows, so I have continued doing the same and I've been super comfortable ☺️

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl 7 months already!! Time really flies! How are you both doing?

thislittlebird · 02/01/2024 13:29

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl i can’t remember which variety you had? Sounds cute!

I’m definitely looking more pregnant without baggy tops on, I’m more accepting of it now, it’s all a lot to get your head around still. I made nursery enquiries :/ and that seems mental. Chatted to a woman today, will do a tour in February 🫠. Feels a bit like jumping the gun but hopefully all will be well at Saturday’s scan.

@Kay00 I sleep on my side too but felt like my belly was dragging on the side the baby is in particular during the night. Anyway, we got a new mattress and that is definitely helping but now I’ve started getting joint pain, I particularly in the knees and shins, hoping that it’ll help.

I'm currently 3 months after ivf treatment.
Still absolutely terrified if everything will be ok. After such a long infertility journey it's quite hard to accept that I'm actually pregnant

Kay00 · 02/01/2024 17:14

@MoonIightDreamer congratulations!! Pregnancy after infertility is such a difficult thing to accept, but it does get easier, as the baby gets bigger and you start to slowly forget the difficulties you had xx
