I'm 15 weeks and I'm sure it's probably still a bit too early to feel anything but I've woken up today so anxious no reason nothing has happened no cramps or anything that would cause concern but just anxious that something is wrong , people keep saying to me oh you will feel little flutters soon they mean well but it's giving me anxiety that I haven't felt anything yet even though rationally I know it's probably too early.

I think I first felt flutters at about 16/ 17 weeks. It was very gentle at first so easy to miss. If you are getting anxious then speak to your midwife who will be able to put your mind at rest.

I didn't feel any proper movement until I was about 28 weeks, went in for reduced movement 4 times and every time baby was absolutely fine. I don't regret going in though, it gave me peace of mind knowing she was ok.

It upset me when people asked about the kicking and movements as she wasn't a very active baby but she's here and healthy now and that's what matters.

Try to ignore other peoples comments, they mean well but it can be upsetting when it makes you second guess the health of your baby.

You've got this mama x

First baby I was at the 20 week scan when I first felt anything
Second baby I think was more like 16 weeks but I knew better what I was feeling .

You're very early to feel anything, don't worry.

Somewhere between 16 and 20 this time but only faintly and when lying down so I was concentrating on it. Regularly had quiet days and not regular or particularly strong until 25ish

CaribbeanCupcake · 31/12/2023 09:51

I didn't feel anything til around 23/24 weeks. I'm now 35 and the baby is so active it doesn't stop all day 🙈 please don't stress you are still too early to feel anything yet xx

PickledScrump · 31/12/2023 13:39

16-24 weeks is normal, you’re very early yet to be feeling anything especially if it’s your first. Baby’s position and placenta position make a big impact on when you feel them. Remember regular movements aren’t expected until 28 weeks.

GLC789 · 01/01/2024 18:08

My flutters started around two weeks ago. They now get stronger and stronger daily!

I'm 23 weeks in the dot tomorrow.

First time pregnancy. Aged 35. Pretty slim build around the tummy (or at least I was 5 months ago 👀😂)

Hope this reassures you.

franke · 01/01/2024 18:11

First time around, nothing till around 20 weeks.

SquashPenguin · 01/01/2024 18:13

I’m 20 weeks and still haven’t felt anything 😕

Growlybear83 · 01/01/2024 18:19

I think it varies enormously from woman to woman and is also affected by how in tune you are with your body. I could feel very definite movement just before I was 11 weeks pregnant with my daughter, and my closest friend who was pregnant just before me could also feel movement by 13 weeks. My mum suggested that it was wind or heartburn but it was very definitely movement and felt exactly the same throughout the rest of my pregnancy but just stronger. I knew I was pregnant before I tested and can still remember sitting on the wall outside the hospital, on the day my period would have been due, waiting for my husband to park the car and throwing up. My boobs were also really sore by that time.

Kirstylvsya · 01/01/2024 19:32

Second child. 20 weeks just after my scan. X

ohfook · 01/01/2024 19:49

Dc1 -around 24 weeks
Dc2 - 17 weeks
Dc 3 - 20 weeks
I think it varies massively depending on the position of both the baby and your placenta.

Pollywoddles · 01/01/2024 20:01

18 weeks on the button.

inquisitiveinga · 01/01/2024 20:05

DS - 16/17 weeks
DD - 18 weeks

Your anxiety is completely normal but so is not being able to feel anything yet 🙂Enjoy the "not so sick" phase before you get crippled with the "being so big" phase 😆

3lele · 01/01/2024 20:58

Gosh I remember the anxiety. Had countless private scans to reassure myself

I felt flutters around 18 1/2 weeks. Had an anterior placenta though

3lele · 01/01/2024 20:59

I’d say 15 weeks is early, I personally don’t know anyone that had them that early

Noseyoldcow · 01/01/2024 21:10

Mine were quite early on. Thought I had the wind for a week or two, then realised what it really was. With both pregnancies!

Karmaismycat · 01/01/2024 21:15

15 weeks is pretty early. I didn't feel anything until just after 20 weeks - and then it was frequent and strong. I've got an anterior placenta which can stop you feeling movement. (Look at your 12 week scan report and see what it says about your placenta position)

Lillygolightly · 01/01/2024 22:02

DC1, 13+4 I had felt what felt like tiny bubbles popping for a couple of days but just assumed it was wind. They a couple of days later I woke one morning laying on my back and felt definite flutters/swishes.

DC2, 17-18 weeks I was quiet worried after having felt movement so much earlier in my previous pregnancy, I spoke to my midwife who informed me that I had an anterior placenta and would probably feel movements later due to this.

DC3, 16 weeks

DTwins, 15 weeks thought I would feel things much earlier given there was 2 of them. I did have some bubbles in the weeks prior but not as such I could confidently say it was definitely movement. Waiting outside in the car when DC1 was collecting GCSE exam results was the first time I felt unmistakable movement. Conversely another lady in my twin group said she had been feeling her twins since week 10!!!

Its just different for everyone.
