33 weeks - pain in left side

Hi all,

Ive already spoken to my midwife who told me to call triage. They don’t seem too concerned and said maybe it’s a nerve or something but to call back if it gets worse. They were lovely but I hate to be that person who will waste their time.

Ive drawn a diagram of where my pain is, in my back over to the left and just below my back ribs. This isn’t an ongoing pain, I’ve had it 7 times since yesterday morning.

The pain is like someone stabbed me for a second then it immediately goes away. The pain is the worst pain I’ve ever felt, and I have shouted out loud and been deafened by the pain (unable to hear/pay attention to whatever I’m doing) The pain only lasts a second/2 seconds then completely goes, but it stops me in my tracks. I notice baby is normally moving when this pain happens. She is very active and measuring on the large side, I’m very petite.

Has anyone else had this? I thought maybe my kidney but I’ve been absolutely fine with urinating and I drink lots of water.

thanks in advance x

Hi
I’m currently 37 weeks. Didn’t have it as intense as you but when my baby had his foot right up under my ribs I had sharp stabbing pains constantly. He’s moved his feet now but for a few weeks was back and forth.

@Sammie1990 Thann you! Yeah I’m thinking maybe she’s jamming her foot in the same spot and maybe right in the direction of my kidney 😳
