Pregnancy

When did you think/feel ‘pregnant’?

I’m 25 weeks now and getting noticeably bigger and a bit more uncomfortable. I wondered when you started thinking of yourself as a ‘pregnant person’?

Maybe it’s me being ridiculous but I still can’t get my head around it (and baby was planned!)! I was out with my mum at the weekend and she doesn’t see me too often, she asked if anyone on a train would let me sit down and asked if I needed a rest, my initial response was to think, but I’m not even that pregnant! Recently I also had to play some jokey games at a work Christmas party and someone suggested pregnant people should get a headstart and I was quite shocked when I realised they meant me 😀

(This is meant to be lighthearted by the way!)

Probably about 15 weeks with both of mine, but I had very few symptoms of pregnancy and only started to show around then (well, maybe 3-4 weeks earlier with my second!)

I’m currently 27 weeks and have hardly had any symptoms at all. Until about 24 weeks I didn’t feel pregnant at all. It’s only now the bump is getting bigger I think of myself as a pregnant person.
I still now have days where I feel not pregnant, another few weeks and I’m sure I’ll feel very pregnant.
Good luck for the rest of your pregnancy :)

I didn't feel it till very very close to the end, maybe 34/35 weeks but even then I only felt a bit heavier. I was the same people would offer me a seat or to have a break or any form of special treatment because I was pregnant but I always felt like a fraud to accept it because we'll, I didn't feel any different or 'pregnant'. My mother was forever saying I shouldn't do this that and the other because I was pregnant. My response was always I'm pregnant, not an invalid 😂 I stayed very active untill the end with a 3.5 mile walk the day before I went in to give birth (dogs 🤷😂). I also barely had a bump untill well into my 7th month. Absolutely get what you mean!! My husband had to remind me at 26 weeks I was allowed to sit in the priority seating on a 3 hour train journey 😅

With my first I think it never kicked in. I barely had any symptoms and could cover my bump right until the last month. I was pretty active and I remember being on a packed train and sitting on my suitcase when I was about 4 months because I didn’t know how to ask for a priority seat and I also didn’t feel as if I needed it. I barely showed. However I knew I was pregnant before I did the test - my stomach felt harder than usual.

with my second even after I did the test I didn’t feel pregnant - for example the hardened stomach and I felt pregnant at around 10 weeks because I have very bad pelvic pain and feel like I’m actually vulnerable!! I can’t stand on the train for too long and can’t walk more than 20 mins without needing a rest and I’m only 25 weeks - I’m not large. So my body reminds me everyday when I’m aching getting out of bed that I am very pregnant.

I actually did have loads of sickness and nausea from 5 to 14 weeks plus the relentless exhaustion but I still didn’t really feel ‘pregnant’, especially until the 12 week scan. I think I was more focused on just getting through each day!

I very much think of myself as a pregnant woman rather than a pregnant person! The woman part is quite vital.

I’m 36 weeks now and in the last few weeks I’ve started feeling very pregnant. Tired and achey. Also the indigestion, the kicks waking me up all night, the haemorrhoids. No lightening crotch yet but I had it with my last pregnancy so I’m expecting that soon.

7 weeks when the sickness started!

Then 16 weeks I started waddling because of really bad cramps and couldn’t stand or walk for long… turns out was my round ligament as now at 37 weeks in immense pain every day from it.

Tbh I’ve had a terrible pregnancy in terms of physical impact on me :( I wish I had one where I didn’t really feel pregnant.

Please use the term pregnant woman, not pregnant person! Men cannot be pregnant.

Anyway... first time, about 18 weeks when I had a tiny bump and felt a few fluttery kicks.

Second time about 4 weeks when I had a bigger bump already than at 18 weeks the previous time, felt hideously sick, and was eating everything that wasn't nailed down!!

I'm 18 weeks tomorrow and have felt like a pregnant woman for a couple of weeks I guess.

I'm starting to show a bit depending what I wear (and what time of day it is!).

I've been incredibly lucky not to have any negative symptoms so far really and am aware that my age means we will very likely be one and done, so I'm trying to embrace and enjoy the once in my lifetime experience while I can.

Straight away on all four! Just felt different. Felt well & fit as a fiddle until about 34 weeks on them and then I felt like a thunderous elephant and couldn’t walk more than a few minutes because the weight was hurting my feet! You’ll get there. On the last i wee’d myself a bit when I coughed! That’s what happens when you have too many 🤣

I was 18 weeks on Tuesday and I still don't feel all that pregnant. I've been really lucky with very few negative symptoms but I haven't felt much in the way of movement yet.

I had an ultrasound two weeks ago and I could barely believe the baby on the screen was mine.

I have a toddler so have largely forgotten about #2 until the toddler goes away and I’m very aware of his kicks! I’d think you’ll feel more ‘pregnant’ in your third trimester when the heartburn and waddling kicks in

When I was about 7/8 weeks pregnant a colleague greeted me with 'Morning, little Mother.'
She just knew.

Currently 17 weeks with number 4 and apart from feeling fatter and more tired, I honestly feel like it's not real sometimes, can't wait to have a proper bump so I don't just look like I've gone ott with takeaways 😂

Not taking into account the morning sickness, probably around 25 weeks too. Started getting uncomfortable and feel heavy when turning around in bed, tying shoe laces etc
