Sorry this is happening Flowers

Sometimes the sac does pass itself, other times it doesn't, known as a missed miscarriage
I had this, foetal pole and empty sac - pregnancy had stopped progressing around 7 weeks

When are you due to go back?
They will be able to see if there is anything left and advise options
Might be tablets to complete the miscarriage, or they may recommend surgical management - also know as a D&C or ERPC (horrible medical terms for a difficult time, but just to prepare you in case)

I had surgical as nothing had passed after 3 weeks. It's a day case under general anaesthetic, a bit uncomfortable physically, quite tough emotionally

Thank you for replying I’m due back Friday morning, feeling so sick and achy all over, it’s very confusing because the doctor literally answered very little questions just said could be wrong dates etc but I’m certain of my dates
thank you so much for answering

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I had a miscarriage in October, I was 6 weeks pregnant - I went for a scan and was told ‘it’s gone’. It was a horribly confusing time, I felt like I just wasn’t getting answers from anywhere!

if your hcg is rising they should either do another blood test or get you in for a scan, have they said what the plan is?

my hcg level rose but very little, days later I lost two (what felt like) clots - my next bloods shown my hcg had dropped to practically nothing.

I had this with my first pregnancy (miscarriage ) but also with my second pregnancy and when I went back after 2 weeks there was a heart beat. I had some bleeding until 13 weeks. I also had bleeding until 16 weeks with my third pregnancy.

Now I’ve read my post back, it sounds awful! I’m so sorry.
it’s worth knowing that when I went for bloods, the midwife was shocked that I’d said I was having a miscarriage - she said you’re not having a miscarriage until your levels drop.

When I had my mc I could see cloths coming out with bleeding including the sac so when I went for the scan next day they couldn't see anything in anymore. My levels were still high though but they kept asking to come back for two more scans and blood tests and with time the levels dropped. I think you should prepare for the worst with that bleeding you had on Saturday I am afraid. ❤️‍🩹

Hi OP, midwife sonographer here. It’s difficult to tell from a single image and I’m sorry that the doctor doing your scan didn’t communicate the findings to you. To me that looks like a gestation sac but there’s no yolk sac or fetal pole visible. This doesn’t necessarily mean a miscarriage, it may just be too early to see them. If the sac measures over 25mm with nothing within then that would sadly mean a missed miscarriage but if they are scanning you again and checking hCG then that doesn’t sound like the case here. Rising hCG sounds promising so hopefully at your next scan they may see more. Only time will tell. Keeping everything crossed for you 💐
