So the night before last I had REALLY bad diarrhoea (sorry TMI!) and throughout yesterday and today I've been having random and not overly painful cramps/ache in my tummy and lower back. Has anyone else experienced this around this time? I'm 36+2 at the moment :) thanks everyone

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Monitor the timing of the cramps. If it falls into a pattern then contact triage. I had this happen at 35+6 and it turned out I was in labour. Mine were every 3-4 mins from the off. Triage seemed to think I was overreacting until they checked and I was dilating.

@glasspaw thank you for your reply. Did you have any other symptoms of labour at all or just the cramping?

Literally just felt cramping every 3/4 mins for about 30 seconds at a time. Bowels were loose the night before. That was it. The only thing that made me call triage was the timing, otherwise I’d have thought it was gas 😆

good luck!

Oh and I lost a tiny bit of my mucus plug at 34 weeks.

I’m 37+1 and had a bad stomach for a week last week. Constant new pains but nothing else. I think it’s just part of this last stage!

How are you getting on @ndavies22 ?

@glasspaw well aches and cramps have still been coming and going but no real pattern or anything to write home about. I saw the midwife earlier though and she said to keep an eye on it and call triage if I'm concerned. She also told me that baby is fully engaged, so I wonder if that means labour isn't far off :)

@ndavies22 was this a sign of labour being near for you? 37+2 and have had violent diarrhoea twice today without much prior warning and otherwise feel grand in myself! Only other thing is i feel baby has properly engaged as i have the weirdest heavy feeling really low that takes me by suprise when I stand up and walk
