Hi girls. Sorry for graphic photo - not nice ! But I just gotta post. I'm so worried I'm in tears. So I'm 6 weeks pregnant following a round of IVF. And today when I went to the loo I noticed this when I wiped. :'( has anyone else ever experienced anything like this?

I am no doctor or nurse so please don't take my words for gospel, but I wouldn't panic too much I had strange discharge at the beginning of my pregnancy I am now 41 weeks - please try and stay calm and not overthink or stress yourself too much, if you are really worried get yourself down to a&e and show them this picture or if you can't get down there book a gp app tomorrow. Are you experiencing any cramping or bleeding? I hope yours okay! Please try and relax xxx

No cramps at all just feel very tight and bloated but now nothing. I am on pesseries from my ivf clinic. I think tomorrow I may go to a&e. I'm.so worried

Good idea, I am sure everything is absolutely fine but go and settle your mind! And pessaries could have something to do with your discharge too, I have heard a common side effect is unusual discharge! Try and get some sleep but keep calm and your body relaxed! Wishing you all the best and I hope everything goes okay tomorrow x

Hey. I'm currently 5 weeks 1 day. I've been having brown discharge when I wipe last 2 days, heavy on wiping but not actually enough that it's coming out on santinary towlels. I rang midwife and she said it sounded very like implantation bleeding and it can happen for weeks after and not to worry unless it got really heavy and had pain. Today the discharge I have is exactly the same as yours which is lighter than what I started with. Hope it all goes well for you. Keep us updated as interested to see what you're told about it as well.

Pinkprincess209 · 26/12/2023 22:24

Thankyou I definitely will do.
I'm so worried if I new they could definitely detect a heart beat this early on - I would go to a&e now

Hey, I had exactly this with my IVF pregnancy in 2021. It was dark brown discharge that was on and off for about 2 weeks. We had a scan at the EPU a week before our IVF scan date and everything was fine, we saw our little boys heartbeat for the first time.
Really hope you get some reassurance soon and everything goes well for you, it is really common to have implantation bleeding and doesn't get talked about enough so it's terrifying when it happens to you!

Pinkprincess209 · 26/12/2023 22:42

Thankyou poppiggy.. I'm terrified. I've got a scan with my ivf clinic 7th Jan which feels like a life time away. How many weeks were you when you had your early scan ? Xx

FriedSmartie · 26/12/2023 22:45

Same. I was asking for scan but she said no point so I'm booked in for 10th January, feels like a life time away.

Pinkprincess209 · 26/12/2023 22:47

The waiting is so hard isn't it.
Have you got any cramps or pain? I've got like a dull ache, almost like a period feeling in my lower belly.

I had bad back pain and light dull cramps over a week ago before the spotting started. It's fine since though. I do get a dull crampy ache now and again, usually when I'm hungry or if I haven't ate for a while. I find once I eat the pain goes but it's very similar to a very mild period like pain. I was pregnant before and had constant dull cramps, more uncomfortable than sore but was told that time it was very normal and was just hormonal changes causing it. That pregnancy ended in MMC and the cramps were actually a symptom that completely stopped when baby stopped growing. Have you any symptoms....morning sickness or breast aches?

I was 6+1 at the EPU then 7+1 with my clinic.
The EPU was reassuring seeing his heartbeat but because they are so so small at that point the margin of error is big and so he was measuring almost a week behind which was scary. By the scan at the clinic the following week though he measured a day behind and by the 12 week scan 2 days ahead.

Pinkprincess209 · 27/12/2023 09:54

See I'm only 5 +5 so not sure if they will even scan me !
I phoned my ivf clinic this morning just waiting now for the nurse to phone me back.
I've got no pain or cramps this morning - and no more blood. But still very very worried. Xx

This is some off the discharge I've had today- what Do you all think? I had an esly scan today at 5+5 and a sac and yolk was seen and they think they could see an embryo - re scan next wrrk to check for heart beat and clearer view of embryo

That sounds promising re the scan!! The discharge looks very similar to my implantation bleeding.
Maybe TMI but I remember it happening more after I'd been straining to have a poo- don't know if that's the same for you?
What day is your rescan? Everything crossed for you x

Pinkprincess209 · 28/12/2023 22:20

@poppiggy I think so!!
Also - I haven't mentioned that I am using pesseries vaginally. My clinic have suggested that I start to use my pesseries rectally as vaginally can cause irritation and thus discharge
thankyou for your kindness. My scan is re scheduled for the 4th Jan! 8.30am
Xxx
