Do I have high blood pressure?

Past couple of days I can hear what can only be described as a "whooshing" sound in my ear. It's really annoying.

Is this a sign of high BP? I don't know whether it's worth getting checked out or not.

Anybody had similar?

Usually, high blood pressure signs are headache, flashing lights or visual disturbances, swelling of the hands and feet sometimes face etc

I have a headache on and off the past 2 days but thought nothing of it

I would ring your midwife see if she can check bp before Christmas Smile

You could also get it checked at Boots or a pharmacy if you’re struggling to get hold of a midwife.

I think I'm going to ring my midwife. The whooshing sound just won't stop and I've got pain under my rib. Not sure if it could just be where baby is positioned?

If you are pregnant it’s checked regularly at hospital.
if you are concerned you can buy a blood pressure cuff for about £30 on Amazon.

we keep one in our medical cupboard as a standard thing alongside thermometer and blood oxygen finger thing. I bought it in my first pregnancy it’s actually fairly handy to have.

Definitely get it checked I had those symptoms and it turned out to be preeclampsia (please try not to worry) I don't want to worry you, but it's worth a check :)

Pain under rib and headache are classic preeclampsia signs: get it checked first thing. A pharmacy will do it for you if you can’t get to your midwife. Hopefully it’s nothing.

Alls ok. BP was borderline and they honestly didn't seem concerned whatsoever 🤷🏻‍♀️

Doctor had no idea what I meant by whooshing. She told me to get my ears checked by GP

Still keep an eye on it, as 140 is just classed as high so b on the safe side
