Pityriasis Rosea

I have just been diagnosed with pityriasis rosea and I am so worried. I am 18 weeks and over the last week a little dry patch of skin has spread all over my stomach and back. I presumed eczema but have now had 2 drs confirm it is pityriasis rosea. There are so many worrying articles online about the risk to my baby and I was just hoping to hear from anyone who may have had this rash and everything turned out OK?
Just to add my rash is not itchy and I haven't been unwell recently so I'm still hoping it's not pityriasis as I have read it can last months!

Hi
I had this about a year ago, not when I was pregnant but even without being pregnant it’s really scary. If you haven’t had it before be prepared for it to get a whole lot worse before it gets better. Mine lasted about 8 weeks and peaked at about week 4. After that it literally just disappeared, I have small scars on my legs when I get a tan but apart from that nothing. All I can say is it is very unpleasant and uncomfortable but I’m assuming you will be monitored closely whilst you have it if you are pregnant. I got very frustrated with the doctors who refused to give me any treatment for it so I did my own research and washed in an orange anti dandruff solution (can’t remember name from boots) which dried up the patches and I also got a prescription of acuclovir from a doctor friend of mine. I obviously wouldn’t recommend self medicating during pregnancy but I do feel that once I started with the wash and antibiotics it’s started to heel quicker. Sorry you’re going through it it is miserable but temporary x
