Can I request a c-section because of a prolapse?

Hi,
I wondered if anyone has experienced requesting a c-section because of previous injury/ prolapse.

I have quite a severe anterior prolapse following the birth of my daughter (DD7).

This pregnancy is a very happy surprise and previously have had physio and am under a gynaecologist because of my prolapse.

Does anyone have experience of this? I’m terrified of what I’ll be left like if I have a vaginal delivery. (I’ve had three and would happily have another if I didn’t have this problem.)

thank you for any advice.

I’ve had pelvic organ prolapse surgery and was told c-section is my only option

It sounds like a vaginal delivery would not be advised in your situation.

No personal experience but a friend with a prolapse was offered a section. She opted for a vaginal delivery and her prolapse was no worse once she'd recovered. Have to admit I thought she was crackers though!

How severe is your prolapse, as in the grade? I have grade 2 (GP checked) and if I have another baby I'd like a vaginal delivery again. You can develop a prolapse or worsen your prolapse during pregnancy so it's not just childbirth that can worsen a prolapse. I'm waiting to see a gynae.
