Baby bump gotten smaller

Just wondering if anyone has had anything similar…

Currently 29+5 with my second son. However over the last week or two my bump has got significantly smaller, I have always carried big/showed early with both pregnancies.

I see the midwife today who agreed it looks much smaller but didn’t really say any more on it. She said he is still head down and very low but not engaged.

Been Googling and lots of people mention baby dropping, but I’m still super out of breath and have terrible heartburn so not sure that’s it?

Just curious if anyone else has had their bump shrink in the third trimester and what the cause / outcome was?

Did she suggest he’s changed position? Have you noticed any other changes in yourself? Movements ok? If you have I’d ask to be seen again, it’s probably a simple explanation but you need to have your mind at rest!

It's very strange that your midwife didn't say or do anything about it. Did they measure your belly?
My first baby constantly changed positions and my belly measured sometimes much smaller than previously.The midwife straight away booked me for scan because it's not something they can ignore...
Your baby will be fine, but I'm surprised by the lack of care by your midwife.

What was your circumference measurement compared to your last appointment ? Is the measurement still on track for your gestation? And as per pp have you still got movements on track etc?

I would have thought a scan would be indicated but I’m not a medical expert. I’d be asking for an opinion from an obstetrician.

@Orangewall she didn’t really suggest anything, then I felt like maybe I was over worrying. All movements are fine, if anything I’d say he’s become more active x

@Katherina02837 sorry I probably should of mentioned they aren’t measuring my belly as I’m having growth scans due to having high blood pressure in my last pregnancy x

@Brandyginger as mentioned above they don’t actually measure my tummy, but at my growth scan 2 weeks ago he was measuring on the 90th centile, so not small by any means. All movements are still fine x
