I have really bad coughing, nausea and a high temperature at the moment. I have taken a Covid test and it has come back negative.

I heard that sometimes Covid results come back positive only after 4/5 days of symptoms. Is this true for anyone ?

Thanks for your help.

I’ve seen more of the opposite, people who have tested after 4/5 days of symptoms and found it to be negative but know it’s Covid because a partner who caught the same thing from them had a positive in the first day or two of symptoms.

But really OP does it make much difference? Either way you sound unwell, need your rest and it probably isn’t something you want to spread to anyone vulnerable.

I woke up Sunday with a sore throat after a work do in a packed office on Thursday. Tested negative on Sunday.

Felt steadily worse (same symptoms as you op) and tested again yesterday and positive so 5 ish days between infection and positive test. Only reason I tested is because my mum was due up today and she's paranoid about catching it (this is my 3rd dose!).

Hope you feel better soon op Flowers

I am just worried because the NHS said I should contact my midwife if I have it because of increased risks for me.

I am so tired and sick that I am not going anywhere!!! Barely able to make it downstairs.

Also a little grumpy because it was a work colleague that ‘soldiered on’ in the school and came in sick just before Christmas holidays, I wish they would have just stayed home.

A friend of mine had horrendous symptoms very similar to yours recently that came back negative every time she tested so may well be flu. Fwiw I was pregnant with covid during the second lockdown and my midwives were unconcerned and I had a healthy pregnancy, just look after yourself 💐

Flu in pregnancy can be a concern - I had it with my second and was very poorly - keep an eye on it and if you feel you're deteriorating then make sure you seek help

I had it a couple of weeks ago. Scratchy throat started on Monday, was definitely full of symptoms by Tuesday evening and did a test on Wednesday which was negative, did another test on Friday which was a very strong positive.

hey sorry to hear you’re not well. I’m 20 weeks pregnant and have just tested freshly positive for covid. urgh. Last time i had it my test became negative quite quickly - after around 2 days.
