What is 30 weeks pregnant like for you?

I’ve had a rough pregnancy and have been on crutches since 22 weeks with severe PGP. Just wondering how everyone else is doing at 30 weeks because I currently feel like a complete failure!

im tired, needing to nap most days, but then get insomnia in the night.

I’m breathless, some days worse than others depending on baby’s position.

I’m swigging gaviscon straight from the bottle to battle the raging indigestion.

im peeing constantly (particularly overnight 😖)

The PGP means I’m finding work and looking after my 3 year old and managing the housework hard. I’ve already given up dog walking and the gym (which I really miss!)

Does everyone find 30 weeks very hard? Have you had to give stuff up/has your partner taken over many household responsibilities because you just can’t do it anymore?

am I just a big moaning grumpy wimp??

I'm 30 weeks and you sound exactly like me at about 22 weeks, when everything was dreadful. Then my PGP magically disappeared (I don't know why) and everything was so much better. Don't underestimate how debilitating pain can be.

To answer your question, I'm ok. Starting to get out of breath just going up and down stairs, I fell asleep in my 3 year old's bed this afternoon after reading him a story (he climbed over me to escape and I didn't even notice) and I'm in bed for the night at 20:12 😀I haven't worked since my eldest was born six years ago and I know that I wouldn't cope well with it in this pregnancy.

Don't compare yourself to others though, it's not a universal experience. PGP is a shitter!

Also approaching 30 weeks with #3 and finding it very tough, especially as I work full time (although own biz, so more like heavy part time these last few weeks) and I have two very energetic young boys. Do you know if you are having a girl or a boy? This is my first girl pregnancy, and it’s been SO much tougher! Just felt so rough and tired for most of it and really sickly. I’m having to have two weak teas a day to get through; I know many do zero caffeine in pregnancy, but I just can’t or I wouldn’t be able to fulfill my duties. Plus my mum and MIL said they drank loads of tea in pregnancy and had no issues … things were a lot more relaxed in the 80s!

I'm just about to reach 30 weeks and have also had really bad PGP for weeks now so I feel for you :( I'm currently studying for my Masters and normally walk a couple of hours a day for my commute to university but it was crippling me so I've mainly been working from home to cope with the pain. Also had to stop all of my normal hobbies too as they were all sports related, which has been really miserable. Since stopping big walks and any leg exercises the pelvic pain has got miles better but it quickly comes back if I do any waking beyond the bare minimum

Also been suffering with insomnia for the past few weeks, normally waking up at 3am wide awake for the rest of the night. It sounds silly but the past week I've been drinking a cup of warm milk around 2 hours before bed and then no more drinks after that and it's made a huge difference to my sleep quality, plus I've not been waking up for a wee in the night! Maybe worth a try :) wishing you well for the rest of your pregnancy!

Bless you OP. I've never had PGP and I don't know too much about it. Do you have a birthing ball/is it comfortable to sit on it? If you're normally a gym goer Im not surprised you're feelng frustrated being so immobile. Might it be possible to do some upper body exercises while seated (on ball?), and maybe leg exercises while lying down (eg class, leg raises)? Apologies if that's totally off the mark.

almost at 30 weeks and I feel the same (minus the PGP, but plus HG). Second pregnancy and I definitely wasn’t this wiped out first time round. I fell asleep on the floor trying to play with my toddler today.

almost there! This is definitely the last pregnancy for me, couldn’t handle a round 3!

So glad I came across this thread. I'm 30 weeks and feeling completely fed up too! I am suffering with PGP and it just keeps getting worse. I'm dreading the next 10ish weeks. I think the pain just completely wipes you out because everything is hard work and you end up shattered.

We can all moan together! You're not a wimp, pregnancy is tough anyway, never mind with the added pressures of PGP and how much it can affect your daily life.

im sorry to hear everyone else is struggling, but also relieved it’s not just me!

i had awful HG with my first (a boy) and was so pleased not to have it this time but have instead been battered by PGP! A girl this time and I think she’s wearing boots… Last pregnancy for me too, I’m definitely not very good at it 🤣

Thankfully I’ve got an end date to count down to - ELCS booked for 8th of Feb 🤩 I’m also very grateful that work have been so supportive, but I do miss feeling useful to anyone

feel free to use this thread as a good place to moan and empathise with each other
