Drinking in pregnancy - herbal tea and chicory root

I know this might sound bananas but I struggle to drink enough fluids unless I'm drinking hot drinks.

I've had to give up caffeine but even decaf coffee gives me bladder issues if I have more than one a day.

I've read some really bananas and conflicting advice about herbal teas - even the NHS website says only 1 or 2 a day when I'm used to drinking upwards of 10 cups a day. I avoid liqourice root, hibiscus and raspberry leaf - I mostly drink peppermint, chamomile and lemon balm blends. That's ok right?

I subsituted coffee for chicory root versions - I love the Whole Earth No Caff which is chicory root, barley and figs - but some googling today led me to read articles saying it can induce miscarriage in large quantities. I think I had like 5 cups yesterday!

Can I keep drinking herbal teas with gay abandon? What do you drink?

I think large quantities means LARGEEEEE quantities.
Everything is a poison, it is all dependent on the amount.

I dont think 5 cups constitutes a large quantity, over a full day. Maybe if you drank 5 cups in 1 hours. That would probably be a large quantity!

As I understand it, they mean 2 cups a day of the same herbal tea. Anyway, if you check the ingredients on the box, most herbal tea is bulked out with random ingredients like apple or hibiscus leaves so not particularly potent. 🤣
I went right off tea/coffee when I was pregnant and ended up drinking a lot of warm water (cooled from the kettle) and vegan Horlicks.

thank you, you're both right, I'm just freaking out.

I'm sure if I stick to 2 cups a day of any one thing I'll be fine
