Constant tightness of uterus/stomach

For the last 2 weeks I’ve been experiencing an almost constant tightness of the uterus and stomach. It feels like a balloon that is being filled up with air. It’s not painful but uncomfortable, it sort of feels like mild period cramps plus the tightness. I’m only 20 weeks and I went in for a scan and everything looked alright and the cervix wasn’t affected, no UTI either. Has anyone experienced anything similar? The doctors have told me there’s nothing to do about them but I keep reading that the fetus gets less oxygen during a contraction and if the uterus is constantly being tight/conctracting I keep wondering if the fetus will be alright in there , superworried 😭

It might be your uterus and stomach muscles expanding as the baby gets bigger, and it was a little uncomfortable but not painful. This used to happen to me with my earlier pregnancies, but now after four children there isn’t much of the stomach muscles left to complain!
