My friend reckoned her baby really wanted a pizza oven for her first birthday, and an expresso machine for Christmas. I highly recommend you follow that line of thinking!

They are only 5 months not 5 years lol

This!
We didn't get our twins gifts at all until they were three. And even then their first big gifts were car seats 😎

I will be getting my two week old things she needs and I want that I didn't get before she was born. A Christmas baby grow, a bauble with her name on, a breast pump lol some nappies and wipes mainly so my eldest can see there are things under the tree for her. I'll do a stocking out the pound shop of a load of crap and chocolates for me to keep the magic alive.

A big cuddle and milk is all they want

TheShellBeach · 13/12/2023 23:15

Nothing.
They won't notice Christmas till they're three years old.
Don't waste your money.

Stacking cups, a baby walker for when they a bit older, a jumperoo, clothes, books, plates, cup and cutlery ready for weaning, bubbles, stacking rings?

My nearly 4 month old is getting some clothes in next size (not much as not sure what others will buy), books, high chair and weaning bits and a couple toys and a teething mitt from us. Mostly because her older sister still believes and she wrote Santa a letter on the baby’s behalf.

Wrapping paper to crunch and chew
Something you want, eg to remember first xmas a photo of them by the tree
They will not care

My 3 month old was originally going to be getting just a bauble with her handprint on, but I felt too guilty and ordered some Lamaze toys from Amazon, mainly so my toddler sees the baby also has presents under the tree. In the baby's stocking she's getting a set of sensory balls and a woolly hat.
