Found out I’m pregnant today - scared

Found out I am pregnant today. We are happy as we were TTC, have been together for over 7 years and brought our house together which is nearly fully renovated over 2 years ago. Both in full time stable employment etc.

I am 25 (will be 26 when baby is born). I am so scared to tell people I am pregnant. I don’t know if it’s because I’m worried about being judged as people might think I’m too young??? I know I am probably just being silly but I feel SO overwhelmed with emotion at the moment. Just looking for some reassurance I think.

I felt the same and I was 27 (although actually a student so more fear of judgement for that). We both need to stop worrying about what other people think. They will be excited for you. Congratulations.

I was younger than you (just) nobody judged me

Thistooshallpsss · 12/12/2023 12:07

congratulations! I would keep quiet about it till your 12 week check no one will judge babies come along when they decide to

I was 22 when I had my first and I don't think anyone judged me . You're at a good time of life - congratulations !

Don't tell people until you are ready, enjoy your secret for a while. You are the perfect age for a baby, congratulations, I m a little jealous!!

I feel for you OP. You're not too young but I understand your shock. My DD has recently found out she is pregnant too (unplanned and has never wanted children) although she is older than you, and won't tell people or talk about it. Congratulations!

Why would anyone judge you? Sounds like you have a great set up. Plenty of us have babies in our 20s- it's not that unusual.

Congratulations!

RunningAndSinging · 12/12/2023 12:08

Lots of health benefits if you are younger. And you will have more energy.

Issummernearlyover · 12/12/2023 12:21

I had my first at 24 and my second at 27. Nobody judged me. I loved having the energy and enthusiasm to be a younger mum. I had a surprise one in my late thirties. It was so tiring and hard work compared to my first two.

Congratulations! I really wouldn't worry and let those thoughts slide 🥰 I'm 26 and 30 weeks pregnant with baby 3 😅

Whataretheodds · 12/12/2023 12:49

You don't have to tell anyone yet. I didn't really tell anyone until about 15 weeks apart from a couple of close friends and one sibling, all of whom I know would keep it secret.

And don't tell anyone you wouldn't tell about a miscarriage/dont tell anyone you wouldn't want to ask you about how the pregnancy is going.

Enjoy the time getting used to the news yourself.
