Ectopic and shoulder pain

Hey! I'm 9 weeks pregnant tomorrow and so far fine, have had on and off mild cramps throughout but nothing really noticeable. After having sex a week ago I had the tiniest bit of spotting, pale pink/brown colour which my midwife said was just cervix irritation.
The last few days my shoulders have been really achy, all across the top of my back and neck with a niggle on my left shoulder tip. I didn't even realise this was something that could signify ectopic until today when I was scrolling some other posts.
Should I be worried? I'm otherwise fine no pain no bleeding or feeling unwell. Would the shoulder pain very quickly lead to other more serious and noticeable symptoms? When I saw the shoulder pain/ectopic link I thought that as I've had it for a few days with nothing else does it mean it's likely just usual aches and pains, but then I over thought it and got a bit anxious. Thank you all ❤️

Mine felt like my collar bone was being twisted & snapped in half. Yours sounds more like muscular pain but do keep an eye, it is very serious & can kill (I nearly did) so please continue to be vigilant

Congratulations on your pregnancy! I don't think you need to worry. With an ectopic pregnancy it is shoulder tip pain, not across your back and shoulders. The shoulder tip pain is due to your diaphragm being irritated by internal bleeding. Normally by the time you experience shoulder tip pain you would already have other clinical symptoms and be feeling unwell.

Please note I am not medically trained simply speaking from my own experience of two ectopic pregnancies. If you are at all concerned please seek medical help.

The shoulder pain will be dehabilitating
When mine was being investigated i was told i had 40 mins from pain starting to death!!!!

I would go to your epu and ask for a scan

Mine was treated with chemicals in the end

Thank you all, I'm glad you're all alright that sounds awful ❤️

I'll keep an eye on it, I have an early scan booked for next week but if it gets any worse or any other symptoms crop up I'll bring it forward or call my EPU. Thank you guys, really appreciate you sharing your experiences

I had an ectopic pregnancy. Started bleeding on the Sat. On Monday bleeding was worse and EPU agreed to see me. I was told the pregnancy was ectopic after a scan.

Around 9pm on the Tuesday I developed pain in my left collarbone and shoulder. I have a lot of muscular and joint issues but the pain was distinctive, albeit mild (if I didn't already know my pregnancy was ectopic it wouldn't have registered). Went to A&E and was admitted at midnight. Pain worsened over night (didn't help there were no beds and had to sleep on a chair in A&E and I developed abdominal discomfort as well). Was finally scanned again at 1pm on Wednesday and told I had internal bleeding. Was in surgery within the hour.

Hopefully yours isn't ectopic, especially with pain that has lasted for so long but it's better safe than sorry and I would recommend being checked over.
