Im now 26 weeks pregnant, I still have never felt baby move and don’t feel like I’m getting any bigger. At my appointment last week everything seemed fine, heartbeat normal and she didn’t seem overly concerned as I have an anterior placenta, but I can’t help but feel like I still should be feeling movements by now. Anyone else been the same?

The first movement I had were so discreet I just thought it was my belly rumbling most the time. If the midwife isn’t concerned then I don’t think you need to be especially with an anterior placenta

Are you a first time mum? Also do u know the position of the placenta? If it’s anterior movements can be later xx

I have an anterior placenta and found people asking me about movements very stressful! I don't think i really had any until around 24-26 weeks and even after i had to lie on my left side quietly for a bit to see if i could feel any. now at 36 weeks i am getting some very obvious movement but it's been a long time to be confident of them

It can be so hard with an anterior placenta!

First pregnancy was so anxiety inducing as I had anterior then & was in so much with reduce movement episodes.Would start feeling things soon as they strapped me up 🤦🏾‍♀️ Towards the end though I was still not feeling movement even when I was induced. Like above sleeping on left helped but sometimes still couldn’t feel him even at night following cold drink etc.

Don’t be afraid to go in to get checked because I was told even with anterior placenta if you feel any difference you should always go in.

I’ve got anterior placenta this time too but so far (just gone 28 weeks) the movement has been so much more intense than the first pregnancy but perhaps I’m just more in tune this time. Still had a wobble around 20 weeks and went in to triage & will be doing it happens again.

Good luck

I had an anterior placenta with my first but felt movements around 16w. However I never had the big belly movements and was in twice with reduced movement, the first time the midwife was telling me my belly was moving but I couldn’t feel it, the second time I went into labour the midwife was telling me my baby was moving as she could feel it doing her checks inside but I couldn’t feel it.

posterior placenta with second baby and it was a whole new world! 11 weeks I felt her, and she would wake me up. Loads of lovely videos of my dancing belly, I loved it.
