Has anyone experienced low blood sugar at 14 weeks continuously after eating or just randomly through the day? I haven't checked my blood sugar but after eating maybe 20 mins after I start shaking and feeling really dizzy and sick. I've been sick since 8 weeks pregnant also been on 6 different meds and had anti sickness injection nothing working. Still feel severely nauseous, as I'm trying to eat and keep it down I'm now facing this horrible feeling that's making me bed bound and feel very unwell. I've been to the doctors they sent me to hospital for high blood pressure but I heard the nurses say they needed the bed and to tell me to go back to the doctors so they sent me home. It's harder and harder to get back doing school runs because I can't deal with the dizziness and feeling shocking anyone experienced this?

i don't think you can know you've got liw blood sugars without measuring the blood sugar. Feeling a bit faint and odd in early pregnancy is very common, I felt much better in the second trimester

@Nearlythere80 I'm in my second trimester. I had gestational diabetes with both my kids so I know the feeling I get when my blood sugars drop I just don't know how to prove it

I’ve also had GD, if you E had it before surely you will be checked for it? I’d raise it as an issue to midwife. I felt terrible until I got my monitor and had my sugars/diet under control. Also ended up on metformin as my fasting bloods were high and nothing you can do in diet for those as you prob know x

@Marshmallow87 this is what I was thinking I've had it in both pregnancies didn't do the tablet went straight to insulin. I'm 14+2 weeks I had a GD test at 12 weeks due to having it both pregnancies and it came back normal but she said it shows more at 26 so they arnt very comfortable ruling it out yet, I'm getting very down and depressed I feel shocking everyday very dizzy spaced out blurry vision and extremely dry mouth , my midwife isn't the best one. She never answers the phone or messages to me so I'm at a stump here I don't know what else to do but I'm struggling to look after my kids even Stand and make dinner/tea x

I struggled with low blood sugar but it was because I wasn’t eating often enough/was eating low carb.

I got a continuous glucose monitor on a free trial for 14 days and that helped me sort out what sort of foods I should be eating and how often.

Did you have blood glucose monitoring before? Have you still got the machine? Yoi can get a continuous reading device like a libre but they are expensive or a cheap home blood sugar machine usimg finger pricks from amazon etc

Type 1 diabetic here, you can buy a cheap blood glucose monitor at the pharmacy (boots etc) that comes with about 10 test strips. You'll be able to speak to the pharmacist and purchase more test strips but the initial 10 would allow you to see if you are low or not when you feel dizzy/shaky.
