Scan at 7 weeks-heartbeat?

Hi I’m going for an early scan next week where I will be approx 7 half weeks ( though not sure due to pcos and long cycles…according to LMP I’d be 9 weeks 🤷‍♀️). Just looking for experiences people have had…did you see a heartbeat? Was it done abdominally? Thank you xx

I went for a scan at 6 weeks 4 days for my first scan and there was a heartbeat but I know that’s not everyone’s experience.

I had a scan at 6+2 and there was a heartbeat. It could be seen abdominally but I also had a vaginal scan and it was seen much clearer.

Exactly the same as me

My first scan was 6+6 (pcos thought I was a little further) . Couldn't really see much externally so when internally to get all the measurements (this is via hospital as the norm where I live you are sent for early dating scan)

I believe you should expect to see a heartbeat by 7 weeks. That's when scans post successful IVF transfer are usually done.

It will be an internal scan before 12 weeks. A bit embarrassing but shouldn't be painful.

I had a scan when I thought I was 6 weeks + 6 days by LMP but they told me I was 7 weeks + 3. It was done abdominally and there was a clear heart beat and what looked like a small baked bean x

Clear heart beat at 7 weeks yes.

I had I've and first scan at clinic 7 weeks where we saw a heartbeat on what looked like a kidney bean.

It was much louder than I thought. Amazing!

I had a scan at 6 weeks due to bleeding (DS is 13 now!) lovely little flashing light which was his heartbeat!

SarahB88 · 10/12/2023 15:06

I was 7+2 when we went for our early viability scan and the heartbeat was very clear. 17 weeks now and baby is doing great with heartbeat of 140bpm. Hope your scan goes well!

Janey3090 · 10/12/2023 21:22

I had a scan at 6+5 and saw my baby girls heartbeat, so I’d say you should see one at 7 weeks x

Unitedthebest · 11/12/2023 10:33

Thanks all-extremely anxious as don’t feel the same as previous pregnancies so trying not to get my hopes up x

I had a viability scan at 7+3 with EPU due to previous losses. We could see the heartbeat.

The scan was a trans vaginal scan (I've had 6 scans before 12 weeks with 3 pregnancies and all have been trans vaginal).

Lindy2 · 12/12/2023 09:07

I had an abdominal scan at just over 6 weeks. There was a heartbeat and a tiny peanut shaped baby. 💗

I hope your scan goes well.
