Anyone else had a high temperature during pregnancy

For 2 days I've had a high temperature caused by a chest infection. I haven't had the chance to talk to my GP and it's the weekend now so I have to wait. My temperature was 38 and has just now come down to 37 which is normal. I've heard a high temperature is dangerous for pregnancy and may cause conditions like spina bifida and other neural conditions. I'm 5 weeks pregnant too which is when these conditions are more common to develop. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced high temperatures and gone on to have a healthy baby?

Hey,

I had COVID and high temp in first trimester, then some kind of flu and fever in second trimester. I was advised to just drink lots of water and try keep it down with paracetemol. I'm 22+4 now and no obvious signs of anything being wrong with baby girl. All scans been fine etc x

Can I ask for an update on this?
last night I went to bed with what felt like the flu, aches etc all over my body. I’ve been fine all day and now feeling abit rubbish again, temp is 37.4, don’t know when I should be worried?

@eed32 I didn't have to go into hospital to get checked. I managed the fever by taking paracetamol and keeping myself cool. After this fever I have had a high fever a couple times but I was able to get it down myself at home. A high temperature is 38°C. What is concerning is if your temperature is not going down even if you treat it at home or if it is too high 39°C or more. You can always call your midwife and ask for reassurance if you are concerned. I'm 34 weeks pregnant and so far everything has been okay.
