4+6 weeks pregnant, having cramps

Hi, this is my first post after suffering 2 miscarriages around 2 years ago. Recently found out that we are expecting again, but I've been experiencing period like cramps for a couple of days now, and haven't really had any other symptoms.

After 2 consecutive losses, my mind's I'm over-drive and am constantly worrying. Has anyone else had anything similar?

Period like cramps are normal don’t worry it’s the uterus expanding. If they become painful and are accompanied with bleeding if think is more concerning 😊

@Holrebbea hi , while I know every situation will be different , I had SEVERE cramping at week 5. Too early for epu. Had further cramping few days before my scan at 7 +2 weeks and baby was fine, heart beating

MoonIightDreamer · 06/12/2023 17:16

By the way, I'm 8 + 1 now and still have zero symptoms

I’ve had a lot of cramping throughout my pregnancy, I’m over halfway now. If there’s no bleeding I would say it’s normal.

Thank you so much for the reassurance, it's nice to hear some positivity - feel like I'm a nervous wreck! Glad to hear you're all getting on well 💙

Also I didn’t get many ‘typical’ symptoms like nausea or sore boobs until 6 weeks when the sickness really kicked in! The cramping is a symptom 🙂

Hi, I had a lot of cramping and some bleeding at the start of my pregnancy. Everything was fine. I'm not 40 weeks.

Samwins · 27/01/2024 17:14

Saw your response as I’m having severe cramps on left side, once a day. Makes me feel like I’m going to puke! Only lasts about 10 minutes then back to normal. I’m only 5+4 days so too early to go to EPU. Is all still ok for you?

Holrebbea · 12/02/2024 12:27

Hi @samwins sorry I've only just seen your reply! Yes, so far everything is still fine with me and am currently 14 weeks pregnant and have a clear scan etc. Wishing you all the best x

Thanks for responding, that’s great to know. I actually ended up at the hospital due to pain and had a scan. All was well. Due to have another tomorrow at 8 weeks. The pain has really gone now which is great as it was agony. Now just nauseous the whole time. Fun times!

Holrebbea · 15/02/2024 16:50

@samwins I'm glad to hear everything seems to be going well for you so far.. it's a really concerning time isn't it, but I was always told that light cramping just meant that everything was moving around to make space for baby's new home! Nauseousness is horrendous isn't it, although this did pass for me by around 12 weeks - hope all goes well for you X

Thank you. Last 2 days the nausea has really eased, not sure if the medication or it’s just easing up. Either way it’s a relief!
I am only having light cramping now but before was crippling agony. Again thankfully that’s passed.
