27 weeks pregnant, infected belly piercing

I'm 27 weeks pregnant and I'm pretty certain my belly piercing is now infected. It's itchy, red and there has been some yellow pus. Question is with being pregnant should I see a gp for this with it being an infection or just treat with general salt water as you would do normally?

Thanks in advance! Attached photo of my horrendous almost outie belly button!

Go to the maternity assessment unit. I don’t mean to alarm you but infection is the most prevalent trigger of pre-term labour. I had an abdominal infection which spread to my uterus and brought on labour at around your stage. All fine in the end but better safe (and checked out!) than sorry!

@Angharad78 I'm worried they will laugh at me for phoning you the maternity triage for an infected piercing?

I would speak to the GP as you are pregnant. My belly button piercing randomly got infected for the first time last year after being pierced nearly 15 years ago, and salt water/saline didn't work :( ended up with antibiotics from the GP and that cleared it up x
