Hi everyone, yesterday I went for a sweep so at 41+2 at 9.30am. I refused one at 40+2 because I didn’t feel body was ready. Anyway she did the sweep, said I was very thin didn’t say how effaced but held her fingers to me less than a cm, said cervix open, she could get a finger tip in but got two fingers in to sweep around and that she felt the babies head and that it was extremely low so very stretchy! I went and did shopping later on and around 8pm lost mucous bloody plug two big bits of it and had some clear discharge all day today, had constant period pain and back ache basically since having it done and around 2/3 hours ago I’d say I’m getting what I “think” are contractions, it feels more in my lower back, extreme pressure into my bum almost, I can’t say I’m feeling much tightening in my stomach though? They seem to be coming and lasting but haven’t started timing yet as they’re not that close together maybe every 10-15 minutes.

is it normal to feel the pain in your back more than anything?? Tens machine seems to be really helping me at this stage anyway!

My labour with my 1st was all in my back, she was back to back though.

Yes both labours about 80% of pain was in my back. Sounds promising x

My midwife said he was LOA position which apparently is meant to be the most ideal position 🤔 so unless he’s turned around and that’s why it’s starting in my back or their not strong enough to be felt in my stomach yet?

I’ve read if it’s back labour it can take a long time 😬
