Hi lollyheart, I had bleeding on and off throughout my last pregnancy, and Iknow can be absolutely terrifying.
If its any help, I worried and worried throughout this pregnancy, and now my 3 year old ds is running around driving me crazy !!!!
Wishing you all the best x

Hi, that's great news for you Lollyheart! I also had bleeding for three weeks starting a week after first scan. I was terrified but it was ok - cervical erosion they think and I now have healthy 9 mo old daughter. Always important to check these things out tho...

3catstoo · 15/03/2008 09:25

It doesn't always mean the worst.

I bled (sp?) very early in 4 pgs and only the 1st resulted in mc. The other 3 I bled at 5-7 weeks, had early scans and went on to have 3 healthy babies.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

It is nice to know that other people have suffered with bleeding. I am 24 weeks with twins and have had quite a few bleeds throughout. I have been admitted to hospital 3 times. The last for 5 days as I bled 3 times during 5 days. Not sure of reason but think it is because my Placenta is low. Babies are fine but I have been told to go straight back to hospital at the 1st sign of any bleeding.

I bled with my 15 month old son when I was 9 weeks and all was fine. I am 14 weeks pregnant and again at 9 weeks have bled with this one. Three scans later a lot of tears and seems to be fine. It is so scary but from my experience there are sometimes no answers and does not mean the worse but get another scan to put your mind at rest

DixiePixie · 15/03/2008 14:19

Glad to hear that things turned out to be fine for you lollyheart . I had bleeds all the way through my pregnancy with my very healthy DD. I had a cervical erosion combined with my placenta being low. (my cervical erosion was described as "magnificent" by the doctor when I got it checked out!!! )

It can be very frightening and upsetting (the first few times it happened to me I was really freaked out) and it is always worth getting it checked out and putting your mind at rest.

ibblewob · 15/03/2008 17:02

So pleased for you lollyheart! I had two major bleeds in the first 12 weeks with my DS (now 2.5), nearly as heavy as periods. I often wondered whether it might have been a twin, but I don't feel sad about it as we never knew. So glad everything looks fine for you as well - good luck with the rest of it!

Moorhen · 15/03/2008 18:09

I had bleeds at six and eight weeks, was so terrified I was having a mc.

DS is now a very noisy 7.5 months

Good luck to you.

sylvev · 15/03/2008 18:54

I had bleeding at various intervals with ds1. No-one really knew why. He is 13 now! I hope all goes well.

Mamita · 15/03/2008 19:13

I had bleeding intermittently throughout my last pregnancy, resulting in lots of scary visits to hospital. It was not until I was about 33 weeks that they were able to confidently diagnose it as just cervical erosion.

All the best for the rest of your pregnancy.

Belgianchocolates · 15/03/2008 21:20

Bleeding in pregnancy is surprisingly common, but at the same time not normal and should always be checked out as it could be a sign of trouble. However many women have bleeds and end up with a healthy full term baby.
In my second pregnancy I bled on and off (about every week) until I was 32 weeks, no evidence of bleeding was ever found on scan and no one knows where it came from. I ended up going 2 days past my due date and had an 8lb 2oz baby, so no problems with my placenta then!

spicemonster · 15/03/2008 21:24

I had a huge gush at 15 weeks and they couldn't find out why. My DS turned one yesterday

It freaked me out massively though - especially as I'd had an mmc with the last one and the A&E doctor I saw said that I was miscarrying again

Glad all is fine now lolly

insywinsyspider · 16/03/2008 14:39

it doesn't always mean the worst, I had big gush at 10 weeks (soaked me down to knees of my jeans when I was shopping, I got to toilet and more blood came out, it sounded like I was heving a wee) I was very scared and then had to wait the entire bank holiday weekend for a scan, more spotting till 17 wks but am now proud mum of a healthy, noisy 13 wk old (and he was a home birth so it was problem free pg from 20 wks)

good luck with it all x

mummy115 · 16/03/2008 16:21

i bled in early pegnancy and had tests and it was just bruising on cervix.only person who can tell you is consultant i would think.

horseshoe · 18/03/2008 12:05

I had a gush the afternoon of my 12 week scan.
My waters had partially broken and the cervix had opened. They said I was def gonna M/C
However DD hung on in there even though the bleeding continued till 20weeks. Both the waters and the cervix were able to replenish themselves and DD is now 2yrs old.

GOOD LUCK xxx
