Hi, sorry this is tmi
So this is baby no 2 and I never had this with my first one, I’m currently 12 weeks and I feel like I stink down below and also my armpits. I’m washing everyday, I’m changing underwear/clothes, using loads more spray constantly but I just feel like I constantly stink. I will be on the toilet having a pee and then I can just smell myself. My husband has also smell it which is making me even more self conscious he can smell it but he says it’s not as bad as I think it is but even in the bedroom area again sorry if this is tmi he currently can’t go down on me as he said I have a weird taste and smell and it’s not my normal one. I have no discharge or anything.
Anyone else had this?
Any advice?
Thankyou!

Ask to be tested for gestational diabetes.

Sweating and smelling are symptoms for this.

MissKH84 · 28/11/2023 18:50

I had my bloods done last week and my blood glucose is fine so not related to diabetes.
I had read its completely normal for the smell and taste to change down there tho.

May be a combination of having increased sense of smell in pregnancy and different body odour due to hormones changing. Probably all can do is usual normal hygiene and hope hormones settle - wash twice a day, deodorant in evenings as well as mornings and don't wear same clothes more than twice. Maybe also get a stronger soap - like the bar soaps can be stronger than fancy smelling shower gel

I had this. I think the hormones or change to skin biome affected my smell, plus I was much more sensitive to smell. I remember crying at the smell of my own head! It goes after pregnancy.

Babyno2onway · 28/11/2023 19:23

@MissBuffyAnneSummers I’ll deffo ask to get checked for that

@MissKH84 yeah I’ve seen it can be normal but I think you still worry cause it’s just makes my self esteem low as I feel like everyone around me can smell me🤣I think I over think it

@LeafyGreenery yes I will get a stronger soap, I have been changing my underwear a few times a day and clothes and spraying constantly but I think I’m going to get some panty liners and put them in my underwear and fingers crossed it slows down soon.

I'd actually suggest using a shower gel that's pH balanced for down there as opposed to soap. You don't want to upset the pH Any more cause that'll make things worse. Also look into Probiotics. I ordered the optibac ones you can take in pregnancy

losingthe · 28/11/2023 19:41

Don't worry op my groin smells like bo, it's fucking rank

Zelda93 · 28/11/2023 19:45

I had this and no idea what it was but made super paranoid as the smell by the end of the day was so strong. I could only wear my jeans once as it would stink up any trousers. It went away immediately after I gave birth .

LeafyGreenery · 28/11/2023 20:16

It is fine to use soap away from the entrance to vagina - all the usually hairy parts will retain bacteria and smells... agree not to put it in the part that has PH balance needs - doesn't need anything special, could even be unfragranced baby soap @MissKH84
