Hi all,

I'm currently 9 weeks and 5 days. Since about 7 weeks my boobs have felt sore but manageable, probably gone up one bra size so far but in the last week my nipples have felt sooo sore, like they are on fire or the skin is being grated, constantly erect, this is the case no matter what bra/sports bra I wear.

I tried to ask my midwife and she laughed and said she had never heard of it and asked if I could have thrush, but its not that.

Did a low intensity class today at my local leisure centre and with every movement they felt sore.

Does anyone know of any creams that can be used to help with this? Or any other suggestions.

I'm having a range of symptoms but this is probably the one that's getting to me most as it's constant, even wake in the night and feel aware of it.

Thanks in advance

Hi @ttcsolomumtobe

I was around the same amount of weeks that you are this time last year. I remember having excruciatingly painful nipples, that would get erect, to the point I had to take my bra and any clothing off (if I was at home) as I couldn’t have anything touching them.
I was able to pin point that a change in temperature made it worse. If I was inside in the warm and then went out into the cold or vice versa I was in agony. May not be the same for you but I found being warm and having nothing on my nipples seemed to ease it when they got so painful but not completely take the pain away. I remember running flannels under warm water and laying them over my breasts seemed to help me and times or a warm bath. Defo not a shower though as the force of the water made it worse! Thankfully my nipple pain went away almost completely by the end of the first trimester, hopefully it’ll be the same for you because I really sympathize. My friends/family thought I was laying it on thick but honestly I was in agony! I hope all goes well for you and your pregnancy x

@raevans thank you so much for your reply, was feeling a bit nuts when my midwife said she had never heard of it and had no suggestions.

Will definitely give the warm flannels and warm bath a try. Don't think the cold helps but yea sometimes it's so painful it's making me miserable and really affecting my sleep motivation.

Hopefully it eases, I'm praying for a good second trimester with energy 🤞🏻
