I’ve just found out I’m 5 weeks pregnant.. I have two children already under 7 … I’m excited but also very very scared my last two births were very difficult all assisted and the last also being shoulder dystocia. I’ll be 38 when giving birth and a bmi of over 40 … I’ve been reading about all the risks and it scares me that if some thing happens to me I’ll leave behind my other two children … I’m also meant to be qualifying next year and finally giving some financial stability to our family .. so all that will have to go on hold … I really don’t know what to do for the best.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Hello, i am in the same boat will be giving birth to 3rd all being well at 38 in July. My other two are older and will be 9 and 11. Definitely a bit concerned by my age and risks of down syndrome etc. I would speak to your midwife at your booking appointment about your concerns. I am lucky in that my last 2 births were very straight forward. Hoping that’s the same nearly 10 years later!!
