Hi all,
Just wondered if anyone else had experienced this??
I’m pregnant with my third child and due to gestational diabetes i’m being induced in 5 days. I also have a sweep booked in for tomorrow and another on Monday.
My toddler has been poorly all week with a bad cough, slight temp and just general
clingyness. Then this morning my eldest woke up with a bad headache and a fever, so is off school.
Im worried that I could catch whatever either of them has got and potentially be induced whilst ill. Secondly I’m concerned about bringing home a newborn to a house of germs and illness. The timing is terrible.
I know it is what it is. Just wondered if anyone else had been through something similar?? X

I brought my newborn home on Tuesday and my toddler has been ill since Monday. I have been trying to keep my toddlers coughs away from my newborn as much as possible.

I've been told breastfeeding will help protect the newborn. I'm hoping she doesn't get it but I am worried so totally understand how you feel x

It's just a bad time for year to have a baby unfortunately, there's so many viruses going around. My whole household has been sick with one thing after another for the last 4 or 5 weeks.

I'm 12 days overdue and going in for induction tomorrow. I thought one advantage of going overdue was that we'd all have a chance to recover but my toddler is after spiking a fever again today.

If you have 5 days until induction plus a few days in hospital then I'd be hopeful that they will be recovered or at least no longer contagious by he time you bring the baby home. x
