4 weeks - anybody else have strong symptoms?

I tested a strong positive on 3w5d. From the same day, I’ve had such strong symptoms I genuinely feel much farther along than I am.

This is my very first pregnancy after 3 years trying (yay!) and the last two days I’ve had popcorn type feeling on the centre of my uterus. Today, I’ve had constant mild cramps, sometimes stronger at times, and now I’m home after being at work all day, I can finally relax my stomach so that my muscles can release the cramp tension. I know it’s bloating, but my belly feels so big already!

But I’m only 4 weeks! I’ve also got sore boobs, and lots of burping. I’m not particularly interested in food either. I’m just taken a back by the constant cramps, which are also nothing like period cramps. I haven’t had one moment of not feeling my uterus!

I am very tuned into my body having TTC for 3 years, and know each and every feeling around coming on my period. I also spot before my period up to 7 days before. I wasn’t spotting this month which made me test, and my mood is really good and I’m not feeling emotional. I always feel teary before my period!!

anyway, that was a garbled way of explaining my symptoms but I’m really curious if anyone else has experienced/ experiencing this??

Congratulations, I think hormones can be much higher in a twin pregnancy. I bloated out very early too with a singleton .

MoonstoneAndRoseQuartz · 23/11/2023 21:43

I had strong symptoms few days after my ivf transfer. A week later I had serious food adversions, cramping , exhaustion sore boobs and I'm now 6 weeks and have zero symptoms

I said twins to DH as soon as I saw how strong the test line was! I’ve read the big bloating can be with twins and singles so I’m hoping it is just the one…

Congratulations! I had IVF earlier this year with a failed transfer. Do you have your early scan soon? Do you know how it is dated in an IVF transfer, would it still be the first date of your last ‘period’?

I'm 8 weeks with an IVF pregnancy and I had awful sickness from 4-6 weeks. I was convinced it was twins because I felt so bad! It's all eased up a bit now apart from the exhaustion! Congrats x

MoonstoneAndRoseQuartz · 23/11/2023 21:52

@whomoon I used an ivf calculator which says I'm 6+2. I have an early scan next week. I'm so nervous as I just don't have any symptoms anymore , it's so weird seeing I had so many week 4-5

thislittlebird · 24/11/2023 08:53

I had symptoms 2 days after my ivf transfer, intense hunger and off and on nausea especially, which made me wonder if it had worked. I had rather high HCG levels when tested but only a singleton in there.

My symptoms eased off at six weeks ish, were great for a while, and now less fun at 13 weeks.

I had always wondered how it was calculated as I’d never got there myself.
the one thing I’m learning about early pregnancy is just how different everyone’s are. Try not to think too much of it and focus on seeing a healthy bean at your first scan 🥰

@whomoon
just jumping on!

Congratulations to you!

I got my positive at 3w+4 on Wednesday and was surprised how clear it was. still waiting for my missed period to actually believe it though!

I have had constant cramps for the last 3/4 days. Not agony but just very much ‘there’ all the time. My boobs have been ok so far and my lips and skin around my mouth is so dry! I’ve read this might be a very early pregnancy thing though?!

Thank you!! Congratulations to you!

This was my 3w5d test. I’m sure if I had tested a day or two earlier it would still have been visible. I tested again today at 4w1d and it’s on the verge of a dye stealer!

That’s exactly it, the cramps are always just ‘there’. Hopefully it’s getting nice and cosy in there.

Perhaps up your water intake to help with the dryness of your lips. And keep moisturising. I would say anything that happens from
now can be classed as pregnancy effect considering the hormones and changes that were going through!

I’ve also contacted the midwife today and waiting to get a callback to confirm first appointment

@whomoon thats amazing, a very clear answer for you!

I'm trying to drink as much as I can but my lips are acting like I’m treating them as the Sahara…using it as an excuse to use my expensive Elemis stuff 😂

I am so clueless, did you call a midwife at your local dr or hospital?

BuffaloCauliflower · 24/11/2023 11:48

Congratulations OP, wonderful news 🥰💐

With my first child I had really strong early symptoms like this, they then stopped completely at about 8 weeks. He was absolutely fine, he’s now 3, but just to say the symptoms may not last but doesn’t mean anything is wrong!

I looked on my GP’s website and found information for maternity. Within that was a phone number for the midwives, so I called and said I was pregnant and didn’t know what to do next!
They took my details and said that a midwife would call me back with an appointment between 8-10 weeks, and answer all my other questions I had!

I am now searching where I can get an early scan, as we’d like to see it as soon as we can.

I’ve read on MN about Badger Notes, which is an online self referral system. However my area wasn’t listed on there, hence checking my GP website. Maybe you could look there too?

Thank you for that reassurance!

I am actually enjoying my symptoms (famous last words!) as I’ve waited 3 years for this, so I like the constant reminder of what my body is doing, something I wasn’t sure if it was capable of or not 🥰 I am being completely naive I know, but loving this baby bubble feeling x

I had a positive test this week - period not due until the weekend but came up positive right away on an early test. Never heard about the possible link to twins! 😂🙈

I’ve had pretty intense cramps for days, nausea, dizziness and sore boobs. I had an early miscarriage a few months ago so really hoping this one sticks. My symptoms are different and stronger this time so hoping that’s a good sign that this time will be different.

I could have written this myself! Except for the dizziness luckily. My period is supposed to be due tomorrow, but I’m pretty sure it won’t turn up with my strong tests!

Aww fingers crossed for you @whomoon 🤞🏻yeah I’ve done 4 tests and they’re all pretty strong so hopefully it stays that way!

Sprinkles11 · 24/11/2023 17:33

Congrats OP and everyone else on the thread! I'm 4 weeks pregnant with my first child and finding it all nerve racking!

Totally have that 'popcorn' feeling you've been mentioning, alongside some bad bloating too. I think I look about 4 months lol!

I've self refered to the maternity unit in my county but does anyone else find it bizarre that there are no appointments or scans until 12 weeks? Big life change and NHS just leaves you to it.

Mrs777 · 24/11/2023 18:53

I will be 5 weeks on Sunday and I feel a shambles. My moods are like the Incredible Hulk, I could cry at the drop of a hat!! And the nausea since last week is unreal, I’ve never had this so early with my other 3 pregnancies, I wonder if it’s my age this time..

Okay thank you so much! I’ll have a look at all that tomorrow, after taking test 6 😂
I think I’ve already decided I’ll pay for an early scan privately as there’s a few places near me and I am so impatient 😬

CharTT33 · 30/11/2023 13:44

Hello,

Please can I join this thread.

I am 4 weeks 3 days pregnant. I’ve had three miscarriages. No live children. I really want this baby! Nerves going through the roof. I’m so scared to do another test. I have an early scan booked on Tuesday 5th dec. The best Xmas present will be a healthy baby. Any reassurance messages welcome ladies xx

Slowcookertea · 01/12/2023 18:47

@CharTT33 congratulations! I know it must be an agonising wait but try to enjoy it ❤️
an early scan will really help you with this I bet, how far along will you be? The place closest to me only goes them from 8 weeks, so it’s NYE for me!

CharTT33 · 01/12/2023 18:51

@Slowcookertea hey thanks for your reply! I’ll be 5 weeks 2 days next week Tuesday.. sooooo early days! I know I feel like I should be enjoying this journey but I can’t pretend I am. I am a nervous wreck and behind this smile damn near breaking down at every minute.. 😂🤣😂 honestly! How far along are you ? Xx

Slowcookertea · 01/12/2023 18:53

@CharTT33 yeah that’s hard when you’ve had experience of that pain before. I literally cannot think of anything else any minute of the day, it’s very surreal for me and I’m convinced it’s not going to last long. This is my first pregnancy though!
I’m currently 4 weeks 5 days so very early as well! Xx

CharTT33 · 01/12/2023 19:19

Honestly! Hahahaha we got this! What will be will… baby dust for both of us… let’s go on this journey together xxx
